  1. Eng 42-0published at 4 overs

Jason Roy hasn't been able to unfurl his arms at anything yet but sensibly taps a decent ball from Beuran Hendricks into the off side for a single to put Jonny Bairstow back on strike.

Oooshk. Hendricks sends down a peach that cuts through Bairstow and just misses the stumps.

Glorious response! Bairstow sweetly cracks the last ball down the ground for four.

"I want it that way" warble the Backstreet Boys over the tannoy (and Matthew Henry next to me). Even they can appreciate a fine off drive.

  3. Eng 37-0published at 3 overs

    Target 257

It's truly dreadful bowling but Jonny Bairstow is punishing it with aplomb.

Short again. Pull shot again. Four this time.

Just the 21 from the over.

  4. 6 runs

    Eng 33-0published at 2.4 overs

Jonny Bairstow is currently running a one-man competition for shot of the day.

Back of a length, picked up early and hit so hard it goes for six over square leg without gettting much more than three metres off the ground all the way.

    On the charge.

  5. Eng 27-0published at 2.3 overs

That's even better, even if it gets two fewer runs.

Bairstow mashes a dreamy drive through the covers for four.

Oh my! Jonny Bairstow casually flicks one off his knee roll high and handsome into the grass banks.

  7. India U19s falling flatpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2020

It's going very badly for India in the U19s World Cup final. They cruised into the final - whalloping Pakistan by 10 wickets in the semi - but they have been bowled out for just 177 against Bangladesh, who are 28-0 in reply.

This clip just about sums up their day...

  8. Eng 16-0published at 2 overs

Left-armer Beuran Hendricks pushes it across and gets Jonny Bairstow playing and missing.

Bairstow is asking for a green umbrella next to the sight screen to be moved and another black and white one to be taken down.

Umbrellas sorted out, Bairstow marmalises the next ball through the covers for four.

  9. Eng 11-0published at 1.2 overs

Beuran Hendricks sends down the fourth wide of the innings already.

Far from ideal when you've got a below par total to defend.

  10. Eng 8-0published at 1 over

    Target 257

YJB wallops a drive but has hit it straight to the fielder. No run.

And another dot to finish as Lungi Ngidi does well to limit the damage.

  11. Eng 8-0published at 0.4 overs

This is a really ropey opening over from Lungi Ngidi. He now fires one way down the leg side.

  12. Eng 7-0published at 0.2 overs

Jason Roy taps a single off his pads before Jonny Bairstow cuts his first ball high over point for four.

    Poor ball, beautifully played.

  13. Eng 2-0published at 0 overs

Lungi Ngidi could be a bit rusty after returning from a back injury and starts with two looseners - this time a wide outside off.

  14. Eng 1-0published at 0 overs

Lungi Ngidi starts with a leg-side wide that Jason Roy chases.

Quinton de Kock goes up for caught behind but umpire Gregory Brathwaite already has his arms outstretched.

Right. Quinton de Kock has led his pink-wearing Proteas back out on to the field.

Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow are in the middle.

Let England's chase of 257 begin...

Naseem Shah is unsurprisingly the youngest person to take a Test hat-trick.

It's the 45th hat-trick in men's Test history and first since India's Jasprit Bumrah against West Indies in August.

And Shah has plenty of time to join Australia's Hugh Trumble, Pakistan's Wasim Akram and England's Stuart Broad as the only men to have taken two Test hat-tricks.

Hugo Flaxman: Good finish from SA but still under par. England have a point to prove and it wouldn’t surprise me if they do this in 34.4 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.

Pakistan's 16-year-old fast bowler Naseem Shah has just taken a Test hat-trick against Bangladesh!

You can follow the scorecard of that match here.

I was just trying not to bowl 10-ball overs at 16.

    Still trying to be honest.

    Cheers Matt.

Good luck braving the elements out there on the supermarket run.

Glorious weather in Johannesburg in stark contrast to Salford today.
