There are a lot of England fans here - there's two pockets, one consisting of the Barmy Army, one of family and friends. Nat Sciver has just raised her bat in the direction of her family, who are sat just behind the England dug-out.

That's unlucky. She has thrown the kitchen sink at it, but got a top edge that has gone straight to third man.

    WICKETpublished at 17.4 overs

    Brunt c Khaka b Ismail 9 (Eng 104-5)

Brunt aims another big blast, but gets a top edge and is pouched at third man.

Tammy Beaumont to come in now. A scorer of hundreds opening the batting, is seven too low for her?

  7. Eng 104-4published at 17.3 overs

The Barnsley powerhouse Brunt whacks Ismail wide of mid-on, four more!

  8. Eng 100-4published at 17.1 overs

Shabnim Ismail to bowl to Brunt, it's all happening as Brunt cuts a two to deep cover, but the throw is fumbled by keeper Trisha Chetty - Brunt would have been out by yards. Hundred up.

Chastened, the England pair add two more singles. 10 from the over, is 130 on?

That is never two for any other team, but these two run so well together.

  11. Eng 96-4published at 16.4 overs

England have reached that eight-an-over target within the first four balls of the over, as Sciver hammers a two to cow corner.

Then, the umpire has a word with Katherine Brunt between deliveries about backing up too far - and Khaka pulls out of her next delivery, as if to warn Brunt she's watching.

  12. Eng 94-4published at 16.3 overs

Khaka's got two overs left, she'll have to bowl 17 and 19 - but Nat Sciver is moving up through the gears here, stepping right across her stumps to flick a four over the wicketkeeper's head. A well-run two takes her to 42 from 36 balls.

I just tried to do this, almost put my back out and now I’m being laughed at by a bunch of kids. On a more serious note, the advertising for this tournament has been brilliant. Posters, adverts all over the place in Perth.

  14. Eng 88-4published at 16 overs

A better over for England ends with a play-and-miss from Brunt - Mlaba finishes with 0-31 from four overs.

Eight an over from here would get them to 120.

I spoke to Nat Sciver a few days ago. She's been working a lot on her bowling and getting through those four overs teams look for from an all-rounder but my word, she is powerful when it comes to batting. It's a terrible cliche but she hits a ball hard - that six made the sweetest sound off the bat.

  16. Eng 87-4published at 15.4 overs

Sciver moves to 31 from 31 balls with a single. Brunt rotates the strike with a leg bye, then Sciver peppers the long-on boundary again, this time bisecting two fielders with a four.

  17. 6 runs

    Eng 81-4published at 15.1 overs

That will help England - Sciver lifts Mlaba for the first six of the innings over long-on!

Something has happened with the England batting line-up and I can't put my finger on it. We used to get 170 consistently.

This is the catch I mentioned - Ismail's running catch to dismiss Heather Knight.

  20. Eng 75-4published at 15 overs

    Sciver 24, Brunt 2

Katherine Brunt joins Nat Sciver in the middle - the new batter pulls out an uncharacteristic paddle-over-the-shoulder for two.

Van Niekerk finishes with 2-20 from four overs. Well bowled, skip.
