123 feels below par for England - although even 120 looked beyond them when they were getting bogged down in mid-innings.

South Africa have a huddle before they leave the field - looks like Marizanne Kapp is doing most of the talking.

Strange to think that Tammy Beaumont and Lauren Winfield opened the batting for England in the 2017 World Cup final, and now they're the middle-to-lower order big hitters. This batting line-up feels as though it's lacking something. It feels as though they're missing that one, solid partnership that can rotate the strike and then hit out when needs be.

  3. Eng 123-8published at 20 overs

Last ball, Shrubsole lifts it to long-on, Ismail charges in to field but England get back for two.

South Africa will need 124 to win.

Mark Burt: Without Sciver England would be nowhere. The rest of the batting has been very poor and lacking any urgency. About 40-50 runs shy on this belter of a pitch.

  5. Eng 121-8published at 19.5 overs

Ecclestone digs out a good yorker and they run one.

  6. Eng 120-8published at 19.4 overs

Shrubsole knocks a single to long-on. Ecclestone on strike, with two balls left.

I'm trying to figure out what has happened to the England batting line-up. We've seen low-scoring thrillers already.

Anya Shrubsole - who famously hit that crucial winning four against South Africa in the World Cup semi-final in 2017 - strides to the middle.

  9. wicket

    Beaumont lbw b Kapp 9 (Eng 119-8)

Beaumont is hit on the right thigh, she's not the tallest and that's hitting near the top of off stump.

She'll be taking about that bruise for weeks.

  11. England reviewpublished at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 23 February 2020

Beaumont rapped on the pad, she's given out - but given the situation, England unsurprisingly go for the review.

  12. Eng 119-7published at 19.2 overs

A wideish bouncer from Kapp, Beaumont advances and can't connect.

Here comes Ecclestone. I think she is the only person to hit her first ball in international cricket for six.

  14. Eng 119-7published at 19.1 overs

Sophie Ecclestone joins Beaumont for the last over - which Beaumont gets under way by cracking Marizanne Kapp through mid-wicket for four!

She wasn't still enough when she played that shot. When you play the ramp, your head has to be still, but Winfield was still on the move.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19 overs

    Winfield c Tryon b Khaka 1 (Eng 115-7)

Another one gone! Winfield tries a ramp shot of her own, but picks out Chloe Tryon at short fine leg. One over left - Khaka finishes with a none-too-shabby 3-25.

These two have a point to prove. They are specialist batters who will want to be up the order.

    Here's Fran Wilson's dismissal...

  19. Eng 114-6published at 18.4 overs

So Lauren Winfield joins Beaumont - the opening partnership from much of Mark Robinson's spell as coach, now batting at seven and eight. Winfield's off the mark with a single, Beaumont now faces for the first time and executes a perfect Dilscoop over the keeper for four!

She tried to give herself a little bit too much room. It was a slower ball.
