These cool conditions are a challenge for the India, they haven't played in these conditions while in Australia and it could take time for them to warm the hands.

  2. NZ 4-0published at 0.2 overs

    Target 134

Deepti Sharma to open with off-spin - we're going to see a heck of a lot of spin in this innings. But Rachel Priest has no fear - firmly cutting the second ball of the innings for four.

Sophie Devine and Rachel Priest, captain and wicketkeeper respectively, opening up.

Can India make it P3 W3? Or will New Zealand be P2 W2 by tonight?

Someone's 100% record is going to disappear. Let's play.

It's a below-par total for India, but they have packed their side with spinners who turn the ball away from the right-handers - New Zealand have 11 right-handers in their side.

It still looks rather chilly out in the wilds of St Kilda - many of India's fielders have their hands in their pockets as they huddle before taking the field. Certainly it's a contrast to Perth.

  6. Verma stars againpublished at 05:32 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2020

Shafali Verma, though is fast becoming one of the talking points of the entire tournament. She rode her luck a little - don't they say that fortune favours the bold? - on her way to 46 from 34 balls

Here was how it went for her today:

But it did come after a big six off the penultimate ball:

And here's one from the "player run out by miles off the last ball of a limited-overs innings attempting a non-existent second run" playbook:

Just catching up on a few of the wickets towards the end of the India innings - including a very good use of the DRS by New Zealand:

Thanks, Tom. An interesting target - India will think it's not enough after the start Shafali Verma gave them, New Zealand will wonder if it could have been a few runs less if they'd held their catches.

So 134 is the target for New Zealand - will they get there? Here is Mark Mitchener to take you through their innings.

We've seen some ups and downs - the big story was Shafali Verma and how good she continues to be. New Zealand had some indifferent fielding, their spinners dragged it back for them.

But will we see India's spinners dominate - or will we see Sophie Devine play the sort of innings we've seen from her this summer? I don't think 133 may be enough.

Here are three of the drops:

  13. Ind 133-8published at 20 overs

India scamper a single with the final ball before Radha Yadav is run out attempting an optimistic second.

India reach 133-8, which is actually a touch higher than I thought a few overs ago.

  14. Ind 132-7published at 19.5 overs

    Tail wagging.

Radha Yadav sends an even bigger drive over the bowler's head for a six!

  15. Ind 126-7published at 19.4 overs

Hayley Jensen with the final over.

India runs two singles before Radha Yadav sends a lofted drive over the top for two.

  16. dropped catch

Radha Yadav dropped on fourpublished at 19 overs

    Ind 121-7

Radha Yadav bottom-edges through to wicketkeeper Rachel Priest but the catch goes down.

Great spell from Leigh Kasperek though - 1-19.

    Final over coming up...

  17. Umpire reviewpublished at 18.2 overs

    Ind 118-7

We go upstairs for a run-out review, but the replays show Radha Yadav was comfortably home.

Kasperek has bowled well so far, but I think it's a risk going back to spin for the 19th over. You won't see too many spinners bowling at the death.

  19. Ind 114-7published at 18 overs

Just three three off the over as the New Zealand fielders race around the field, they know they are on top.

    Two overs two go...

It was three sixes and out for Shafali Verma:
