It's going to be tough for India from here. Sophie Devine is the master of this, she has multiple options as a death bowler. India just have to fight and scrap and see how many runs they can get.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.1 overs

    Deepti c Jensen b Devine 8 (Ind 111-7)

Skipper Sophie Devine brings herself back into the attack and makes an instant impact as Deepti Sharma hits a slog-sweep straight to Hayley Jensen at deep mid-wicket.

  3. Ind 111-6published at 17 overs

Shikha Pandey is the new batter by the way as Anna Peterson returns for her second over.

She races through her deliveries, giving the India batters little time to think.

Six off the over, three overs left, what can India reach from here?

A wicket at this stage really swings the game in New Zealand's favour. We've seen some iffy use of the review system at times, but I think it's been a success in this tournament. We want the right decisions, we want it in these big women's tournaments.

  5. Ind 105-6published at 16 overs

What a fine spell of bowling from Amelia Kerr, 2-21 from her four overs.

The spinners have turned the game in New Zealand's favour.

Harmanpreet Kaur was one of those wickets which fell to spin:

    Veda lbw b Kerr 6 (Ind 104-6)

And that is a great review. No inside edge and the ball tracker shows the delivery was going on to hit the stumps.

You're banking on the keeper when you refer - if the keeper's going all the way down leg side, the ball is probably going down leg. But Rachel Priest stayed behind the stumps.

  8. Umpire reviewpublished at 15.3 overs

    Ind 104-5

Veda Krishnamurthy sweeps and misses, up goes the appeal but nothing given.

We are going to have another look though....

  9. Ind 104-5published at 15.1 overs

Amelia Kerr continues 1-16 from her first three overs. But that's a freebie for Veda Krishnamurthy as she loops up a full toss that is slashed through the covers for four.

    Ind 98-5

    Another drop!

Deepti Sharma picks out the fielder on the deep mid-wicket boundary but the catch goes down!

It's been a good performance by the New Zealand bowlers so far.

Here are the first three India wickets to fall today...

    Snehal Pradhan
Ex-India seamer on BBC Test Match Special

It's huge. India are half the side down, with not yet 100 runs on the board and six overs to go. Shafali Verma is the only batter who's looked good on this pitch, the lower order have to do the job now.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.5 overs

    Verma c Jensen b Kerr 46 (Ind 95-5)

    Huge!

She has been dropped twice, but not this time! Shafali Verma attempts another huge lofted drive but can only pick out Hayley Jensen on the long-off boundary and she takes a smart catch.

    Snehal Pradhan
Ex-India seamer on BBC Test Match Special

This is brilliant bowling from Kasperek, she's a highly under-rated bowler in T20 cricket. India's captain Harmanpreet Kaur continues to have a poor tournament.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13 overs

    Harmanpreet c&b Kasperek 1 (Ind 93-4)

The loopy off-spin of Leigh Kasperek makes another breakthrough!

After another tight over Harmanpreet Kaur looks unconvincing as she gently hits the ball straight back to the bowler for a simple catch.

It has not been the best tournament with the bat so far for the India skipper.

Verma's been lucky this innings - she's given one half chance, and one regulation chance. But she still backs herself to clear the fielders.

  18. Ind 90-3published at 12 overs

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur joins Shafali Verma in the middle - and that is huge from the 16-year-old, smashing Rosemary Mair's final delivery over her head for another six!

You can stick all the fielders on the boundary as you like, she will just hit it over them.

    Snehal Pradhan
Ex-India seamer on BBC Test Match Special

Jemimah Rodrigues hasn't been timing it well - it wasn't a great delivery, sliding down the leg side, but she closed the face of her bat too quickly.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 11.1 overs

    Rodrigues c Kerr b Mair 10 (Ind 80-3)

It's not Shafali Verma - but New Zealand will take it.

It is not the best delivery from Rosemary Mair but Jemimah Rodrigues gets is all wrong as it skews off a leading edge into the gleeful hands of Amelia Kerr.
