  1. Aus 6-0published at 0.3 overs

Deepti Sharma serves up another full toss but Healy doesn't quite get hold of it as well. A single allows the left-handed Beth Mooney to take guard. A third successive full toss - touch of nerves from the bowlers? - is driven down the ground for one.

You have to love Alyssa Healy - she plays the same no matter if it's the World Cup final or not.

Well, that's one way to settle the nerves...

  4. Aus 4-0published at 0.1 overs

First ball, full toss, Healy blasts it through mid-wicket for four!

    No nerves from her!

India have had their huddle, and throw the ball to off-spinner Deepti Sharma. Aussie openers Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney walking to the middle. It's a packed-out MCG, an incredible atmosphere.

There must be nerves out there - but will the players freeze, or relish the adrenaline that must be flowing?

Let's play. May the better side win.

For every player here, it's not just a big game, it's not just a T20 World Cup final, it's representing every female who came before you - those who had to pay to play for their country, and played with three men and a dog watching. History has brought them to this moment.

  11. How Australia dodged the rain (just) to reach the final...published at 06:54 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2020

    The second semi-final

Had there been nine more minutes of rain at the second semi-final, Australia would have been eliminated in the same manner as England.

But they got on the field long enough to see off South Africa.

When you're playing in a big final like this, you have to find something that calms you down. Katherine Brunt and Danni Wyatt would definitely have been dancing along to Katy Perry.

Australia v New Zealand in Melbourne was pretty much a de facto quarter-final, with the winners going through as Group A runners-up.

The hosts squeaked home by four runs.

WIll Australia have done much specific preparation for facing Poonam Yadav?

They'll have done so much. We once had our assistant coach Ali Maiden bowling leg-spin on his knees to replicate her. The sweep shot is a good option against her.

Six large purple banners - all with enormous female hands on them - have been dragged on from all corners of the MCG to surround the stage.

The hands may, or may not, be demonstrating the different grips for off-spin, leg-spin, left-arm spin, right-arm seam etc - or maybe I'm reading too much into it?
