A lot has been made about the impetus that Ben Stokes would bring. I think something should be said about the effect that Dom Sibley has had on Stokes though. It's not every day you'd see Stokes take 230-odd balls to get to 93. It's been calculated and measured and you must give Sibley some credit for it.
Wow, that used to drag didn't it?! Sorry Mrs Picken, if you're reading.

Mike Bell: Dom Sibley's innings has lasted longer than : Double Chemistry used to on a Friday afternoon.

That's a brutal delivery! Everyone looks surprised by it, it really climbed and bounced awkwardly.
Shannon Gabriel returns and his first ball leaps off the pitch and hits Stokes on the body. We haven't seen anything like that all game.
Another bouncer hits Stokes later in the over. He got some bat on it though so it's a single.
Back to Sibley on 98...

These two have been so restrained. It was an expensive miss to drop Dom Sibley yesterday.
Sibley 98, Stokes 93
Oooo. Now then. In none 'hundred race' news, Alazarri Joseph has just been given an official warning for running down the pitch.
He had been testing the patience of the umpires all innings.
He will only be allowed one more warning before not being allowed to bowl again in the innings.

Martin Perryman: I know we’re having a bit of fun at how long this has taken Dom Sibley, but how long have we had to wait to have a player like this.......invaluable!
Sibley 98, Stokes 92
On that point Tom... Sibley has now faced 308 balls for his 98.
Stokes, though, has the strike for the next over.

Tom Bell: Dom Sibley is making a huge case to open up with Mike Atherton in my dream team.
Two more for Sibley with a flick off the pads. For a moment I thought that was it.
Grab your pots and pans. I want Sibley to hear us applaud if he gets there...

Shot of the day by a big margin from Ben Stokes!
Sibley 96, Stokes 92
Stokes hasn't given up on the race.
An edge for four but then a beautiful drive down the ground. That is the best shot of the day by far.
He's now on 92. He's the plucky Olympic runner who tries to time the run perfectly to take the gold on the line. Think Christine Ohuruogu.

I've got to pop out to build an extension to the house. Hopefully Sibley will have his hundred by the time I've finished.

I once saw Graham Thorpe score a century in Pakistan and he only hit one boundary on the way to three figures.

Dom Sibley must have great powers of concentration.
In true Mo Farah style, Dom Sibley has felt Stokes gaining around the final bend and is kicking for home.
Two more to his name. The England opener has 96. The excitement...
