The pitch is starting to play tricks. If West Indies see off the first new ball then they have a chance but it is not going to be easy.

    England have a great chance.

Russel Winder: Why can't we go back to 5 or 6 Test series? These 3 Test series just do not allow for build up of tension, or total annihilation.

Joe Root will have West Indies' win at Headingley in 2017 on his mind. That is bound to have some small effect. The way they sent out Buttler and Stokes shows he wants to give himself the opportunity to level the series.

This is a series England expected to win. Drawing the series is not what they are about.

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

It is fantastic stuff by Stuart Broad. You can see why he has the record has.

Again, with West Indies batting you think they are one wicket away from a collapse.

They have progressed as batters to getting 50s and 60s but the next step in the progression is to go on and make hundreds.

  7. 'England have to force the game'published at 19:19 British Summer Time 19 July 2020

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

It would be reckless for West Indies to go into tomorrow thinking about the win.

They have to go out with positive intent and get to tea.

If they need 80 runs in the final session then go for it but they have to build the foundation first.

Don't find yourself 80-6. England have to force the game.

More from England bowler Stuart Broad on Sky Sports: "The short pitched bowling got me through my action a bit and made me realise what tempo I need to be at the crease.

"I felt under a bit of pressure. Any time you don't have match practice and this time, in a normal English season, we're eight, 10, 12 first-class games in, so you're bowling and in rhythm.

"You do feel an added mental pressure to hit your straps and it's different to bowling in a net."

  9. 'England have given themselves a great chance'published at 19:14 British Summer Time 19 July 2020

    Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

England bowled so well with second new ball.

They did the right thing with the batting line-up. To see Buttler and Stokes charge out, I know it didn't work for Buttler but it showed good intent.

England will want to get another 60 and have 85 overs to make sure they have a second new ball.

They have given themselves a great chance.

  10. 'In a dream world we get two new balls'published at 19:12 British Summer Time 19 July 2020

England bowler Stuart Broad, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's going to be a good day tomorrow. We need to set it up in the first 45 minutes, an hour tomorrow.

"In a dream world we get two new balls tomorrow. We've given ourselves a chance of winning this game, which is a great position.

"The second new ball is going to be quite important, even if its for four, five, six overs.

"If West Indies were seven down with that second new ball, you'd feel like it would give you a real chance."

James Haworth: I'd sooner England lose this game by Windies chase than bat too long and draw. At least go out fighting and have some belief.

Shot! Ben Stokes hammers a straight drive down the ground but it's cut off by Alzarri Joseph and they'll have to settle for one, which seems unfair.
