It has been terrific cricket over the last hour and a half. England will have a number - the amount of overs they'd want tomorrow - and if that means Buttler has to open then you have to do it.
Roston Chase has an absolutely cracking cover drive and it's beaten Craig Overton all the way to the boundary rope for four.
Oh, and now Kemar Roach has picked up four! Not quite as glamorous as Chase's, more outside edge than anything else, but it's gone tearing to the boundary rope.

When England have the batting line-up they do it is for times like this. Why not open with Buttler?
A terrific tumbling dive from Ben Stokes at second slip stops Kemar Roach picking up four off the outside edge.

The follow-on is saved! Chase has a smile on his face. For the West Indies that is an important milestone. They are not out of the mire, though.
WI 272-8
A flaying shot from Roston Chase and it drops just short of a tumbling Chris Woakes at mid-on!
West Indies still trail England by 197.
And the follow-on is avoided!
Short, Roston Chase swivels, and he pulls a handsome four away. England will have to bat again!
Four runs needed to avoid the follow-on.
Shot!
Glorious from Roston Chase, whipping a swinging Sam Curran delivery off his pad and sending it racing away for four.

Ben Stokes is lurking on the edge of the boundary, which I think means he's coming back on. He's still prodding his stomach a bit...
Kemar Roach gets his outside edge rustled by Chris Woakes but he manages to cling on.

Shannon Gabriel missed a simple run-out in England's first innings that would have bowled England out for 440. After that they added 29 more runs which could be very important.
Need 9 runs to avoid follow-on
It looks dark at Old Trafford but it's still sunny outside my window.
Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport at Emirates Old Trafford
For as much as England have rekindled their hopes of winning this game, the sight of Ben Stokes trudging off, clutching his stomach, is a huge concern. He was in clear discomfort in that last spell, and we now await news of his fitness.
Yep, an outside edge has saved Kemar Roach.
Hang on, there's a spike on ultra edge.
Bit leggy?

Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
Has that pitched on leg stump?
Oh, hello. Sam Curran rattles Kemar Roach's pads and Joe Root sends it upstairs.
