We are used to being away from home for quite a bit, we do tour places where we can't get out and do much but this feels very different.

We obviously had a long period at home before this which we aren't used to. Having three or four months at home was brilliant, obviously under the wrong circumstances, but it was really nice to be at home during that time.

We've all stuck at it, we've performed well, but everyone is definitely keen to have a breather and have some normality.

I think the fact the outside world seems to be going in a better direction and people are coming out of lockdown made it that little bit harder.

It's tough to remember not to use saliva on the ball but we're getting used to it now. We've got to a point where whoever is on the ball gets on it quickly to buff out the scruff marks.

It's been a good surface to bat on when the ball hasn't swung. When it's not swinging, we've been trying to use the wobble-seam ball.

Aggers has just worked out that his room is directly above Chris Woakes'.

"I've wondered what all that racket was," quips Woakes.

The source of most of the racket then proves to be Jofra Archer playing Call of Duty down the corridor from Woakes though.

Yes that's right. We realise that the way to win Test cricket hasn't really changed.

We've tried to bat big periods of time, keep their fast bowlers out there for multiple spells.

Dom Sibley has come in and done a fantastic job for us - that blueprint for getting big first-innings scores on the board is a big thing for us.

It feels like since Chris Silverwood took over as England coach, you've been trying to play a more traditional form of Test cricket?

It's been hard on the bowlers as we are used to having much more match practice. We did as much as we could during that two-week camp in Southampton but nets can only get you so far. You need that match intensity.

After that first Test last week I felt like I'd been hit by a bus, I hadn't felt like that for a long time.

Is this West Indies side a really quality Test match team? Not yet, so you'd expect England to win this series. I think Pakistan will probably be another level up from the West Indies which will be a good challenge for this England team and then you can talk about them competing with India and Australia.

Stuart Broad has done it for years to be left out in the first Test, he voiced his opinions, and fair play for him to back that up.

It's been a pleasure to play with him throughout my career and we've been very lucky to have him and James Anderson in the same time for so long.

That's what you have to admire the most - it's not easy to make such a statement and then go out and perform like this. But that's what makes Stuart tick, he performs his best in the biggest occasions.

He's had a steely look in his eyes and a determination to prove a few people wrong.

England deserve a lot of credit. They are on a pathway, they've been inconsistent in the last two years and they're trying to get more consistent. You go back to South Africa, winning away from home, that's a little tick, are they a good side? No, they are a decent side, that's all.

It is frustrating, particularly with the position we are in in the game.

There is still plenty of time, hopefully we can get out there at some point and get on with it.

It's actually brightened up a fair bit now - a peak of sun through the rain clouds.

But we'll need it to last a lot longer to dry the outfield.

West Indies played so well in the first Test, but they probably peaked in that performance. It's not being disrespectful, it's just what they've got at the moment, particularly in their batting ranks.

It felt like yesterday was the first day of the tour where West Indies both looked and felt overpowered by England after a tight series.

It's understandable after what must've been a draining tour, living, training and playing all in two grounds, with no opportunity for getting out and clearing their heads.

And they deserve our unending admiration and thanks for coming to play this tour during the coronavirus pandemic.

The rain today does still give them a chance of retaining the Wisden Trophy, should a few players really stand up and play some determined knocks tomorrow.

It is a horrible morning, it's still raining and we've got some puddles on the outfield. The skies are filled in and I don't think the players have even left the hotel.

I watched Stuart Broad's 8-15 against Australia at Trent Bridge in the 2015 Ashes earlier this morning.

A very good way to counter a grey, miserable Monday morning.

Yesterday we gave you three options to vote for your play of the day:

    • Ollie Pope's flying catch off a no-ball
    • Stuart Broad's dismissal of Jason Holder
    • Rory Burns' reverse sweep for four

And, despite it not going down in the record books as a wicket thanks to Chris Woakes' overstepping, you went for Ollie Pope's stunning grab.

    Here it is...
