Eoin Morgan on Test Match Special: "It was an outstanding win - not from nowhere but having the bowlers execute plans as well as we did, particularly when Australia started to gather momentum in the Aaron Finch and Marnus Labuschagne partnership and once we broke into partnerships it was very tough for batsman to come in and get going. That was certainly the case when we were batting.

"The bowlers have made us look good today. But our batters need to learn to groove an innings on a wicket like this - it is the weakest side of our game and it's the reason that we want to play on slow wickets. Hopefully we will continue to learn in that regard but we're thankful that our lower order batting contributed some runs today because it really did make a huge difference towards the end."

Chris Woakes on Test Match Special: "On those sort of wickets we always felt we just needed to get up to a score but you always feel like you're short. But we always believed with the ball, especially with the way we started. We always felt that it was going to get harder and harder. We just stuck to the task and just tried to execute hitting a good length as often and possible and we always felt that if we picked up a couple of wickets we could put them under pressure.

"I do my thing and Jofra clearly does this thing. It's great to have someone like him in your team because when you're up against it you can give him the ball and you get that little bit of x-factor from him which is brilliant. I just try and do my thing at the other end, keep it as tight as possible and pick up the occasional wicket.

"We've got great character in the changing room - it's why we did so well in the lead up to the World Cup and in the World Cup. We've got the belief that we can win from any position with both bat and ball and we showed that we can do it with the ball when at one point we probably looked dead and buried."

England enjoy tight situations and they just know how to win in all formats. They've got a group of experienced players who know how to win.

Jofra Archer on Sky Sports: "We were quite versatile because we went seam up for the first two or three overs but then we changed it and it worked. With it being a used wicket you don’t have to get too funky.

"Eoin Morgan gives us the freedom to bowl whatever we want - we discuss fields but he seldom tells you no."

Australia captain Aaron Finch on Sky Sports: "England squeezed us - they bowled a really good length. It was hard to hit boundaries but I'm still very disappointed."

On how to avoid collapses: "It's the million-dollar question. We might not be 100% committed to our plans. At times we might overplay the situation in our head.

"We probably bowled a touch wide and gave them a few opportunities to free their arms. They're good batters as well.

"It was getting more difficult as the match went on but that’s no excuse for the collapse. It probably wasn’t the greatest viewer match but it was good to see an equal match between bat and ball."

England captain Eoin Morgan on Sky Sports: "It's definitely a confidence booster for the team.

"That's as well as we've bowled for a while. We took advantage of conditions, but full creit to the guys. Our group of four seamers were outstanding."

On bringing back Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes: "It was the only way we were going to win the game. You need to go all in. You've got to make something happen to stay in the game. The bowlers made us look good today."

There's something about this England side - it's happened in the last year or two. They just never know when they are beaten. They change games with pure belief and wonderful skill.

Australia, what can I say? It was done. The pitch wasn't an easy one but Glenn Maxwell just missed a straight one and Aaron Finch shouldn't be getting out to that delivery when he's in. Australia should have won the series tonight.

Aaron Finch is facing the media. He's got the look of a man who's just realised that nice person asking for his bank details in order to pay a tax rebate was in fact a scammer.
