It's got to be Tom Curran to replace Jofra Archer for me. Sam Curran has six overs left. Alex Carey's strength is spin so do you just hold Adil Rashid back and try and get Carey out by using one of the Curran's?

The seam is doing the damage. There's a little bit of uneven bounce and seam movement.

  2. Aus 150-6published at 35 overs

    Target 232

Pat Cummins is the new man. Those 82 runs look miles away. It's an awful shot from Maxwell, so airy, pushing at the ball. Justin Langer was disgusted with it. I bet he's kicking a bin as we speak, then collecting the remnants in an elite manner. Somehow, Cummins gets through the rest of the Woakes over. The Brummie Botham finishes with 3-32. What a turnaround.

I can only think it's the pressure because the ball hasn't done a great deal. It may have just done enough but his technique, pushing at it, it's not a great shot.

Chris Woakes has done the damage in the last few overs.

    Maxwell b Woakes 1 (Aus 147-6)

    The Wizard!

Chris Woakes is doing it at Old Trafford again!

This time it's Glenn Maxwell who loses his furniture. Almost a carbon copy of the Finch dismissal. He's missed a straight one.

    Australia have lost 4-3!

Jofra Archer has been tremendous. He bowled beautifully in the T20s, with pace and movement. He's really rattled the Aussies tonight.

Jofra Archer has changed the game England's way.

  7. Aus 147-5published at 34 overs

    Target 232

Well bowled, Jofra. No more wickets, but he has been superb. He rattled Australia when they were coasting. 3-34 from his 10. Now Chris Woakes' last one...

I think I'm having an influence. Finished my work and popped the TV on five minutes ago. Cue three quick wickets. I'm not moving now!

    Matt in Farnham, again

  9. Aus 146-5published at 33.3 overs

    Target 232

Aaron Finch is now watching from the balcony, face of a man who has just accidentally dropped his wedding ring into the sea. Australia are almost through Archer...

    WELL.

  11. Aus 146-5published at 33 overs

    Woakes 2-29

Remember when we thought this game was meandering? 11 deliveries changed all that. Woakes and Archer have one each left. If England are going to win this, the Curran boys will have to back them up.

Surely not? Australia were coasting in the first T20 and collapsed horribly. They were coasting with Marnus Labuschagne and Aaron Finch.

  13. Aus 145-5published at 32.4 overs

    Target 232

Glenn Maxwell. The Big Show in a big moment. Looking again, that hasn't kept low, Finch has just missed a straight one. He played down Bakerloo.

This game has completely turned around in the last five or six overs. It kept a little bit low.

I don't think the ball did a great deal but it castled into the stumps and the zinger bails flew into the air.

    We have a game on!

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 32.3 overs

    Finch b Woakes 73 (Aus 145-5)

Now it really is game on!

Aaron Finch goes, cleaned up by Chris Woakes. Is that another one that has kept low? Who cares? Look in the scorebook and it says "out".

England have taken three wickets for one run.

Cricket v baseball - which throw is more accurate?published at 19:52 British Summer Time 13 September 2020

    Text 81111

Stephan, I have been watching cricket (my first sporting love) for 45 years and am increasingly obsessed with baseball - and I can confirm that the average baseball outfielder's throwing arm is both more powerful AND more accurate than a cricketer's. Search for "Ramon Laureano 321ft" and "Cespedes throws out Kendrick" and you will find good examples.

  18. Aus 145-4published at 32 overs

    Target 232

Alex Carey is the new man. He can't buy a run at the moment. Jofra has one over left. He's got 3-34.

I don't think it kept as low as Mitchell Marsh played it as.

If England can get Aaron Finch out now there's a game on.

Mitchell Marsh gave the impression that kept low. Is there life in this game yet?
