  1. wicket

    Marsh b Archer 1 (Aus 145-4)

    Game on?

Mitchell Marsh is castled by Jofra Archer. Marsh is trying to make it seem like it kept low, but I think he's made it look low. Either way, he's got an inside edge on to his timbers and is walking off.

If England can just get Finch...

Marnus blew the biggest bubble as he walked off the pitch. I've never seen anyone look more devastated during a review - he was sunk on his haunches, helmet off, head in gloves as the umpire went through the motions.

You just never know. If England get Aaron Finch out in the next 10 runs then this game could start to get a little bit tricky again for Australia.

  4. Aus 145-3published at 31 overs

    Target 232

A sniff for England? Mitch Marsh is the new man. Jofra Archer has two overs, Adil Rashid four. They need Finch.

I wonder if Michael Gough thought there was a little inside tickle. Chris Woakes reviewed that very quickly, I don't think I've ever seen a bowler review one so quickly. I always trust Woakes with his reviews, he's an honest chap.

All umpires make mistakes but I'm amazed Michael Gough, considering the summer he's had, hasn't given that out.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 30.5 overs

Labuschagne lbw Woakes 48 (Aus 144-3)

Gone! Marnus Labuschagne is absolutely plumb! Across the line, clattering middle. Michael Gough finally gets a decision wrong, the fact it hit both pads perhaps making him think there was an inside edge. Chris Woakes knew. "That is salmon," he said. Salmon trout. Out.

    Aus 144-2

    Roll that dice!

Woakes thinks he's got Labuschagne here...

I offended England's greatest ever Test bowler and managed to walk into a table with such force that the top of my leg is black and blue. And I hadn't even had a drink.

  10. Aus 143-2published at 30 overs

    Finch 71, Labuschagne 48

Archer only has two overs left after this. You wonder if England might want to save them but, if they don't get a wicket soon, there will be nothing to save them for. When Labuschagne dabs to third man, he scampers back for two. Good running. He's closing in on a half-century.

TheNightWatch: I support Washington NFL - losing at home badly. West Ham - lost at home pitifully. England cicket team..Sorry everyone, this is on me and my bad life sporting choices. I am cursed.

  12. Aus 137-2published at 29 overs

    Target 232

On the subject of England's throwing, I've just started to watch a little bit of baseball. I'm miles from being expert, but it does strike me that their throwing is much more accurate than that of their cricketing counterparts. If you know a bit about baseball, let me know if I'm on to something, or once again talking nonsense.

That is really well directed. He shapes up to play it to the leg side then gets in a tangle.

  14. Aus 131-2published at 28 overs

    Target 232

Archer's pace is causing trouble in the twilight. A short ball cops Finch a nasty one on the shoulder. Only Archer has caused the Aussies any sort of discomfort today. If only Mark Wood had been good to go. Still, Jofra can't make the breakthrough. He has 18 deliveries left to bowl.

That could be the difference. You look at the way Marcus Stoinis dismissed Jason Roy - that was a crucial moment in the first innings.

England miss the stumps again! Aaron Finch would have been miles out, but Jason Roy's throw misses. Is that three England have fluffed? Marcus Stoinis didn't miss...

  20. Aus 126-2published at 26.4 overs

Let's suppose this game meanders to an Australia win. What are we going to talk about for the next hour or so? I'll be honest, I haven't had the best weekend. It started with a speeding ticket arriving through the post. My outing on to the cricket field yesterday ended in defeat, including getting bowled by a grubber. I also seem to have picked up a thigh injury. My fantasy football has been average and now England are getting gubbed. How are you getting on?
