Howard, come on. I worry for you if a wicket falls soon.

That was the ball. It just about clipped his thumb. I think Jos Buttler should take a step down and talk to Woakes and tell him to just calm down.

  4. dropped catch

    Close!published at 17:31 British Summer Time 8 August 2020

Is that the chance?! Yasir Shah finds a decent edge off Chris Woakes' bat but it falls short of the second slip/gully.

  5. Eng 228-5published at 69 overs

    Need 49 more to win

It looks really, really flat. Pakistan will want the new ball - available after 80 overs - to hurry up but England will get there beforehand at this rate.

Since Ollie Pope's dismissal, the ball has hardly done anything.

  7. Eng 228-5published at 68.4 overs

A good stop out in the deep prevents Woakes getting four more. It's still another couple to England. Joe Root still doesn't look comfortable, on his feet in the dressing room with his arms folded.

    49 to win.

Someone needs to do something for Pakistan. They need some magic. But there are still a lot of runs to get for England.

  9. Eng 225-5published at 17:26 British Summer Time 8 August 2020

    Need 52 more to win

There's applause from somewhere as Woakes knocks another single off Yasir at the end of the over. Since tea these two have been so, so calm.

Should England win it from here? Probably. But there'll still be a twist.

I'm looking at whether we'll get to that second new ball. Potentially.

  11. Eng 224-5published at 67.3 overs

"Catch it" shouts Rizwan but the ball zips wide of Asad Shafiq at slip. Those were bouncing and carrying to slip in the first innings. Two more to England's total.

The problem for Pakistan is that these two are just playing the game. When they first got in the middle they were a bit chaotic but now they've set themselves just to play. They haven't taken too many high-risk options since tea.

  13. Eng 222-5published at 67 overs

    Need 55 more to win

Maybe they're just too nervous to type, Jam. WinViz has now swung right into England's favour. It has a home win at 67%.

Sam: If anyone needs a match-winning ton, it’s Buttler. Dig in chaps

Jam: Hi to all the people who keep saying drop Buttler. How you feeling?

  15. Eng 219-5published at 66 overs

    Need 58 more to win

There are far too many singles on offer for Pakistan's liking. Even when the ball goes to a fielder Woakes steals one.

    It's into the fifties now.

Another single to Woakes brings up the hundred partnership. I don't think there was even a punch of gloves. Work still to be done.

    Play begins again after drinks.

England need 61. Pakistan need five wickets.

Chris Woakes has actually been the highest-scoring player in this partnership.
