  1. Eng 307-4published at 82 overs

    Crawley 168, Buttler 69

Mohammad Abbas shares new ball duties and squares up Jos Buttler straight away, finding a bit of extra bounce and smashing him right in the unmentionables.

Zak Crawley, at the non striker's end, isn't exactly brimming with sympathy for him.

A very, very good day for Zak Crawley, and there's still nine overs to go.

I like this approach from England. It's an opportunity to score really quickly for the next nine overs.

Very close as Shaheen Afridi pings in a yorker and Jos Buttler almost gets knocked off his feet as he keeps it out.

    Well. That was... an over.

  5. Eng 303-4published at 80.3 overs

Zak Crawleye then has an outrageous waft outside his off stump and is beaten on the inside edge.

    Calm down, lads.

  6. Eng 303-4published at 80.2 overs

And to improve Shaheen's mood, he overpitches and gets clipped gloriously for four by Zak Crawley as Yasir Shah kneels over the ball, rather than in front of it.

    Not the best over, this...

Pakistan look a tired outfit. England will try and go up in the gears again. You get the feeling they will attack this second new ball.

Oh, ouch, make that three no balls...

  9. Eng 296-4published at 80.1 overs

Yorker length, perhaps a touch of movement, and the ball diverts low off Jos Buttler's front pad and down to the boundary for four byes.

A streaky inside edge zips just past Jos Buttler's stumps, but no matter, it's another no ball. It is incredibly windy...

  10. Eng 290-4published at 80 overs

Whoops. And it's a no ball first up. The first of the day, I think, but you know what they say about setting the tone...

Here's Shaheen. 10 overs left in the day.

It was hit very, very hard. I think it was a low, hard chance. He's on all the floor all theatrically. He learned all this in acting school.

Fawad looks disappointed with that over. He looks like a man whose car has broken down and he has to spend an entire day inside someone's house.

The bad news for Fawad is that he's just had two of his fingers cracked back at him by Zak Crawley.

It's bounced just in front of Fawad in his follow-through I think, but he'll have a wee bruise to show for that.

I've had a look. It reads: 'Fawad is a cricketer whose car is stuck in front of a house. A fellow actor takes the cricketer inside the house and then Fawad spends a full day with the people in the house'.

I wonder what happens in the end?

  15. Eng 288-4published at 80 overs

Fawad Alam is swept furiously for four by the flawless Zak Crawley.

So, so easy for England. Mind you, the new ball is available, but I'm not sure that excuses a complete loss of impetus in the past hour.

He looks like he could be a comedian baddie.

I think Fawad could be in something like 'The Only Way Is Karachi'.

YES, I love when cricketers are in films.

Step forward Dale Steyn in that terrible Adam Sandler movie.

Fawad did some acting when he was out of the Pakistan team and considering his future. He was in a TV comedy drama.

Pakistan look dejected. Their body language tells you everything; with their hands in pockets, they've gone quiet.
