Anustan: Zak Crawley looks pure class, great through the off side and strong off the pads. It's going to be interesting to watch him down under. Nothing better than watching Jos hit big sixes. Setting up what looks like a good Test match.

  3. Eng 244-4published at 72 overs

    Buttler 50, Crawley 131

Zak Crawley times the pants off a cover drive to Shaheen Afridi to add another four to his ever growing total.

These two have run very well together, with another quick single keeping things ticking along.

This has been an excellent partnership, just what England needed. All the talk, rightly, will be about Zak Crawley and the fluency he has played with but Buttler has been equally impressive, very composed.

  5. Eng 239-4published at 71 overs

This is Jos Buttler's third Test 50 in five innings. Not bad for a fella under pressure.

This has been a very nice innings from Jos Buttler, and he brings up his half-century with an easy, clipped two off Yasir Shah.

Muted celebrations for Buttler - he's eyeing up three figures...

There's 10 overs to go until the new ball, although Pakistan don't exactly seem to be hurrying towards it.

I think they can - he has a good wrist position and gets good seam movement.

Do you think they can trust Naseem Shah with the new ball?

  10. Eng 236-4published at 70 overs

A very tidy over is ruined by a beautiful cover drive from Jos Buttler that goes rolling into the ropes. He's so strong through that area.

Josh Withers: Foakes would have scored 17 that over.

With 13 overs until the new ball, these two batsmen are putting the pressure on Pakistan.

  16. Eng 231-4published at 68 overs

An outside edge from Zak Crawley but it's angled down, the ball bouncing just in front of the slip cordon.

I like the intent of Crawley. From ball one, when he scored four, and the way he's batted against the spinner; coming down the wicket, using his feet or punching off the back foot.
