  7. 'I find him the toughest bowler'published at 18:24 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    BBC Test Match Special

Azhar Ali on being James Anderson's 600th Test victim: "At least I will get more air time now because they will show that wicket again and again. Hats off to him, he's a fantastic bowler, I've always rated him.

"I find him the toughest bowler, especially in English conditions. He doesn't give you anything, you have to bring your A-game.

"He's still bowling at decent pace, with swing and seam, congratulations to him. I wish him all the best."

  9. 'We had respect for each other'published at 18:20 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    BBC Test Match Special

Pakistan captain Azhar Ali speaking to TMS: "The first two Tests were tough for me, I was under a lot of pressure, I tried to keep things simple and it worked.

"I was getting stuck with my front foot a lot, committing too early, I worked on it with my coaches. Whatever you do, unless you score runs, you don't feel confident.

"It's been a fantastic series under the circumstances, hats off to the organisers who did it in such a short time, at least we got cricket going and people could at least watch on TV.

"Both teams played with great spirit, which is very important. Both teams were fighting for the win but had respect for each other. We enjoyed it."

Pakistan will look back at that first Test, they should have won it but just weren't smart enough.

Cricket has to eke out every ounce of information from Jimmy because the next generation needs to find out how he's done it.

To stay at this level as a seam bowler for 17 years is nothing short of incredible. Whatever comes his way, he deserves it.

I met Jimmy Anderson at a private function in a bar in Manchester in 2003. He'd just made his international debut and was the most humble and shy bloke there. Absolute gentleman and a hero.

Today is about Jimmy Anderson. I know it's not the most perfect scenario without crowds.

Whether it will sink in now or tomorrow, it's an incredible achievement. We're witnessing something which is truly, truly great.

Honestly, I didn't think we'd see any Test cricket this summer.

But what we have had has been great in so many ways. West Indies and Pakistan deserve huge amounts of credit for coming and touring, and I really hope England can reciprocate someday soon.

A few people will be thinking why didn't England just go for the win but I think after 10 weeks, they just want to get out of here. They've done what they wanted in this series.

Jimmy walks off first, holding a stump, and he's greeted to a standing ovation by his opponents who have gathered on the balcony.

Waqar stops him for a quick chat, too. Brilliant.

That's it, it's a draw. They had to bowl a ball. It seems a strange low-key way to end.
