Gary Blanchard: Well batted James Corden. From Gavin and Stacey, and US chat shows, to hitting a century against England for Ireland. A man of many talents.

  2. Ire 182-1published at 29 overs

    Stirling 106, Balbirnie 58

Tight over from Tom Curran, just three runs from it.

England could do with stitching a few of these overs together.

England can't stem the flow of runs. It's a big ground and there are lots of twos on offer.

  5. Ire 179-1published at 28 overs

    Target 329

More shrewd stuff from Ireland, picking up the ones and twos after making sure of one boundary from the over.

They're keeping up with the required rate with ease right now.

Here is one of those aforementioned big hits...

  8. Ire 175-1published at 27.1 overs

Paul Stirling celebrates his ton by marmalising his next ball to the fence with a brilliant cut shot.

Do England have any plans for bowling to him?

What an innings - he's paced it perfectly. He can get a big score - there are still 23 overs left in this game.

It's his first ever century against England. Paul Stirling could be the man for Ireland this evening. We've seen the aggressive and patient Stirling.

100 for Stirlingpublished at 27 overs

And he gets one on the pads to calmly tap through mid-wicket for an easy single to bring up a superb century.

Paul Stirling knew he needed to deliver if Ireland were to have a chance of chasing this down and he has in fine style.

Plenty of big hits but also canny rotating of the strike.

Can he go on and deliver Ireland to victory?

  12. Ire 170-1published at 26.5 overs

Paul Stirling returns to the strike on 99...

  13. Ire 167-1published at 26.3 overs

Tom Curran sends down a vicious yorker - huge appeal for lbw but not given.

    England don't review.

And for good reason - that hit the bat instead of Paul Stirling's toe.

That looked four all the way but it's a brilliant stop from Adil Rashid.

  15. Ire 167-1published at 26.2 overs

Paul Stirling swivels one round the corner - is that a four for his century?

No. Adil Rashid does really well to dive and stop the ball inside the rope. That's two.

James Vince is out of the attack as Tom Curran returns.

Can he mix up his pace and draw Paul Stirling into a false shot?

Is that a drop? It would have been the catch of the century from James Vince! I think Paul Stirling has got away with that, he looks relieved.

  18. dropped catch

Stirling dropped on 95published at 25.5 overs

    Is that the moment?

Paul Stirling rocks back to crack a pull shot towards mid-wicket, where James Vince puts in a full-length dive to his right but can't hold on.

Would've been an absolute blinder. Will Stirling give England another chance?

  19. Ire 162-1published at 25.4 overs

Paul Stirling aims an airy flay at Saqib Mahmood and misses.

But Mahmood releases the pressure with a full toss that Stirling swipes away for two runs as Sam Billings makes a fine diving stop near the fence.

  20. Postpublished at 19:58 British Summer Time 4 August 2020

    Cheers Callum.

Nervy times for England. Their attempt to replace Liam Plunkett with James Vince hasn't gone well.

Saqib Mahmood is coming back on to try and break this partnership.

If England remove both these batsmen soon, they become strong favourites. If not, these two could coast home.
