It's worth remembering that there's more than a series win on offer for Eoin Morgan and England.

The three-game series is the start of the World Cup Super League, which decides qualification for the 2023 World Cup in India.

Each win is worth 10 points and with the amount of cricket that is going to be squeezed in as a result of the pandemic, England may have to rotate their squads consistently in the next 12-18 months, so a 3-0 win against Ireland would be a perfect start.

They're using a new pitch today and that means the boundaries have been moved slightly. The move obviously meant the groundstaff had to touch the boundary advertising sponges and as a result someone had to walk around and spray each one with disinfectant last night.

Just one of many extra jobs that have to be done to get these games played.

Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie: "It looks a pretty good wicket and will stay similar as the day goes on.

"There is a lot of experience in our squad outside the 11 but we need to give our young guys more playing time at this level going into the next few years."

A change of tactics for Ireland then.

After batting first twice and failing to post a big enough score Andrew Balbirnie has chose to have a bowl first.

Welcome to our live coverage of the third ODI between England and Ireland at the Ageas Bowl.

Let's get straight out to the middle for the toss. We know England will make at least one change with Reece Topley ruled out with a groin strain, but with the series won will they take the opportunity to find out more about the likes of Liam Livingstone?
