  1. Durham collapse puts Yorks in driving seatpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Yorkshire (199 & 4-0) need 168 runs to beat Durham (103 & 266)

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle at Emirates, Chester-le-Street

The Durham collapse was something rather unexpected at about 15:00 BST.

They were tootling along at 215-3 when the new ball was introduced and handed to Matthew Fisher.

Three Fisher overs later he had 4-4 and had conceded just three runs. Alex Lees was bowled for 106 and Jack Burnham yorked for two.

Fisher and Jordan Thompson then did for the next four batsmen who all got ducks and Durham were soon all out, losing 7-45 in 19 overs.

Yorkshire are chasing 171 to win and there were 34 overs left in the day when their second innings began. There's all of tomorrow as well.

    Crane c Brown b Carson 0 (Hampshire 153 & 137-9 v Sussex (176 & 221)

Sussex need just one more wicket to win!

Mason Crane plays an ugly slog sweep off spinner Jack Carson that goes straight up in the air and is caught eventually by Sussex wicketkeeper Ben Brown.

Ajeet Dale the last man coming out for Hampshire to join Keith Barker.

  3. Derbyshire's own chase startspublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Derbyshire (239 & 6-0) need 359 more runs to beat Nottinghamshire (324 & 279)

Also the start of Derbyshire's second innings at Trent Bridge.

Luis Reece and Billy Godleman the openers as they start their bid to chase an unlikely 365 to win.

  4. Yorkshire begin run chasepublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Yorkshire (199 & 0-0) need 172 more runs to beat Durham (103 & 266)

Adam Lyth and Tom Kohler-Cadmore head out for Yorkshire's second innings at Chester-le-Street.

They need 172 to win this one after an impressive display by their bowlers this afternoon.

  6. Finely poisedpublished at 16:06 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Kent (387 & 36-3) lead Essex (298) by 125 runs

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent at Chelmsford

A tense second session of the day that started with Matt Milnes cutting a swathe through the Essex tail with three wickets in seven balls, dismissing Ryan ten Doeschate for 78 and Sam Cook and Matt Quinn in consecutive deliveries.

Kent grabbed all three bowling points while denying Essex their third with the bat by just two runs.

Not to be outdone, Jamie Porter and Sam Cook opened with blistering spells for the home side and removed Daniel Bell-Drummond for five and Jack Leaning for six respectively.

Last ball before tea, a brilliant catch at second slip by Simon Harmer removed the dangerous Ollie Robinson for 14.

We’re poised for a fascinating final session.

  7. Bears continue to be kept at baypublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Northamptonshire (142 & 239-5) trail Warwickshire (369-8) by 12 runs

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM 95.6 at Edgbaston

Adam Rossington and Charlie Thurston formed an effective union to delay Warwickshire's apparent victory charge, and effectively split the middle session with the Bears.

Although the visitors remain in peril, this partnership has become a substantial annoyance for Warwickshire.

Half an hour after lunch, it seemed entirely possible that Will Rhodes's team wouldn't need to pad up again to win, after Ricardo Vasconcelos drove Alex Thomson airily to short extra-cover, and Tim Bresnan dislodged Rob Keogh and Saif Zaib in the same over.

Rhodes pressed his own medium-pace into service to help cover the continued absence of Olly Stone, and came closer than anyone to taking the next wicket, having Thurston dropped in the slips and Rossington edging through an inconvenient gap in the cordon.

Alas, in his first game as captain, he must refer complaints about not having enough men in catching positions back to himself.

    It's tough at the top...

  8. Sussex closing inpublished at 16:02 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Hampshire (153 & 135-8) need 110 more runs to beat Sussex (176 & 221)

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex at Hove

Another good session for Sussex who need just two more wickets after tea to wrap up victory.

The wickets have been shared around with young off-spinner Jack Carson on his debut taking two and his overall match total to four.

Hampshire need an unlikely 110 more and with Keith Barker still at the crease there is a glimmer of hoe, but in reality Sussex should finish this off tonight.

  9. Durham dismissed for 266published at 15:57 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Durham (103 & 266) lead Yorkshire (199) by 171 runs

It's tea at Chester-le-Street after Durham are bowled out for 266 in their second innings.

Their last seven wickets falling for just 45 runs as Matthew Fisher takes 4-54.

Yorkshire will require 172 to win.

  10. Notts all out for 279published at 15:52 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Nottinghamshire (324 & 279) lead Derbyshire (239) by 364 runs

Michael Cohen gets Jake Ball to nick behind and that's Nottinghamshire all out for 279 as tea is taken.

There were notable contributions with the bat from Haseeb Hameed (52), Steven Mullaney (48) and Samit Patel (80).

Derbyshire will need 365 to win in their second innings - survival may be the more realistic aim.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Patel lbw Critchley 80 (Nottinghamshire 324 & 279-9 v Derbyshire 239)

Samit Patel looked destined for a century with the confidence he was playing with but his inspired knock is ended by Derbyshire's Matt Critchley.

His 80 off 94 balls included 10 fours and a massive six, but he's trapped lbw.

Notts are 279-9 and leading by 364 runs. They're still strong favourites at Trent Bridge.

  12. Tea time approachingpublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

In fact a few matches have already taken tea on this third day, while some others are not far away from doing so.

We'll bring you up to date shortly with how things stand in all nine matches.

  13. Kent three down in second digpublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Kent (387 & 36-3) lead Essex (298) by 125 runs

Kent have lost three early wickets now in their second innings at Chelmsford.

Ollie Robinson departs for 14 to the bowling of Matt Quinn.

The visitors 125 ahead after claiming an 89-run first-innings lead earlier when Essex were dismissed for 298.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Fuller c Crocombe b Rawlins 30 (Hampshire 153 & 125-8 v Sussex 176 & 221)

Two more wickets needed for Sussex!

James Fuller the man to fall to Delray Rawlins as he picks out the fielder on the long-on boundary.

Seemed a completely unnecessary shot to play in the circumstances and Hampshire are making a very poor fist of this run chase.

  15. 6 runs

Patel letting loose at Trent Bridgepublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Nottinghamshire (324 & 271-8) lead Derbyshire (239) by 356 runs

Samit Patel is playing another wonderful innings for Nottinghamshire and clears the rope for his first six.

He moves onto 77 with Jake Ball on 22 as the hosts' lead over Derbyshire stretches to more than 350 runs.

Could we see a declaration at Trent Bridge?

  16. Middlesex openers make solid startpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Middlesex (347-6 dec & 50-0) lead Surrey (282) by 115 runs

Middlesex building a handy lead at The Oval with a 50 partnership.

Openers Max Holden and Sam Robson laying a strong foundation in their second innings.

Surrey without two of their bowlers at the moment too with Matt Dunn and Jordan Clark both off the field for various reasons.

  17. Overtons combine to punish Glamorganpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Glamorgan (131 & 10-2) trail Somerset (296 & 290-8) by 446 runs

    Carlson outImage source, Getty Images

It's another wicket for Craig Overton - that's seven in the match - and this time he gets some help from twin brother Jamie who catches Kiran Carlson's loose shot at slip.

This one-sided match continues in the same vein.

It's a question of how long this will go on for.

  18. Lancashire start second inningspublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Lancashire (322 & 0-0) trail Leicestershire (409-8) by 87 runs

Leicestershire's declaration meant an early tea at New Road but they're back out to commence Lancashire's second innings.

Keaton Jennings and Alex Davies will hope to bat out this 39-over session to help the Red Rose get back ahead in the game.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    McManus c Carson b Garton 28 (Hampshire 153 & 113-7 v Sussex 176 & 221)

Sussex three wickets away now from victory over Hampshire.

Lewis McManus is the latest Hampshire batsman to fall a delivery after he had smashed George Garton for six over deep mid-wicket.

Garton bangs another ball in short and McManus goes for the hook shot, but cannot clear the long leg fielder who is Jack Carson.
