  5. Northants need to bat longpublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Northamptonshire (142 & 19-0) trail Warwickshire (369-8) by 208 runs

    Andrew Radd
    BBC Radio Northampton

Northamptonshire's Rob Keogh has told BBC Radio Northampton "we just need to bat ourselves back into the game" - and realistically that means occupying the crease all day today and into tomorrow.

He said: "The pitch looks flat when the ball gets soft and although they have an experienced bowling attack it's an excellent opportunity for our young batsmen at the top of the order to show what they can do."

It's a long way back for Northamptonshire from here - and someone will need to play a major innings.

Weather outlookpublished at 10:49 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

On the weather front for this third day, fingers crossed should be a largely uninterrupted day on the playing front.

Could be the odd isolated shower in some areas though.

Some cool temperatures ahead of what apparently is going to be a bit of a scorcher towards the end of this week!

  10. Seconds out....day three!published at 10:45 British Summer Time 3 August 2020

    Bob Willis Trophy continues

    Tom WestleyImage source, Rex Features

Day three - "moving day" as they tend to call it in golf majors and it's easily a term that can transform itself to four-day cricket.

Nine matches in the inaugural round of the Bob Willis Trophy continue and there's a chance a few may well reach their conclusion at some point today.

For others, there's a potential defining few sessions ahead as they either try to maintain their dominant position or wrestle back the initiative.

Should be an intriguing day nonetheless.

Welcome along to our continued live coverage, play is due to resume in around 15 minutes time....
