  1. dropped catch

Buttler dropped on 5published at 3 overs

    Eng 17-0

    Dropped!

Kagiso Rabada has put down a simple one. Jos Buttler's pull is a horrible miscue, looping to Rabada at mid-on. He only has to move a few paces to his right, but it hits the wrists and goes down. That's a bad one.

Nortje could have had two wickets in his first over.

  2. Not outpublished at 2.1 overs

    Eng 15-1

It's actually missing leg stump. You'd think South Africa would be sore about the time taken for the review to come, but there's no moaning.

Reprieved, Roy might be feeling less pain where he was struck on the ankle.

  3. England reviewpublished at 2.1 overs

    Eng 15-1

    Out! Surely?

Anrich Norte's first ball is a shin-high full toss that Jason Roy has missed. It's dead straight.

The review looks to have come too late, but the umpire allows it.

It's missed the pad, too, so Roy is hopping around...

People who write in just to appear on screen are cheap. Me? I wouldn't want a message selected. I'd feel like a sellout.

  5. Eng 15-0published at 2 overs

    Target 147

Roy is still looking scratchy against the pace of Kagiso Rabada, getting in a tangle with a leading edge. Buttler's uppish pull flirts with the square leg fielder, then decides the boundary is more attractive.

  6. Eng 9-0published at 1.3 overs

Very much so. The football lads are currently wondering why so many people are telling them they are in a labour ward, while we're wondering why people want Eoin Morgan sacked from his position as Man Utd manager.

How do you sort out whether the texts in are for the football or cricket? Is there a chance one text could be printed on both live feeds?

That's better from Roy, a powerful sweep behind square for four. In the change of innings, we've reached peak Sunday - cricket, football and F1 all at the same time. I know F1 isn't really a sport, but it's lockdown, so we'll take what we can get.

My texting strategy is much like my lottery ticket strategy. I don't buy them and am still disappointed I haven't won.

  10. Eng 3-0published at 0.3 overs

    Target 147

Crikey. First ball, Roy almost falls in exactly the same way he did at Newlands. Lucky not to get an edge. He's batting like a man searching for his keys in the dark.

It feels like we've moved into confessions. Get it off your chest, there's no judgement here.

Jos Buttler and Jason Roy are in the middle. JRoy could do with a score. George Linde will open the bowling with his left-arm spin.

It was years before I realised that Anon wasn't a person. I always used to wonder who Anon was and was impressed at how prolific they were as a poet and songwriter.

I've just realised there's a whole community of us out here. Our quit-wittedness ultimately consigned to our own little bubbles. It's one rule for the named and another for us title-less anon.

If we get loads of people now claiming to be waiting for an imminent arrival, I'll be somewhat suspicious.

My top tip for getting a mention? Say you're in a delivery ward. We get an unusually high number of those.

Having said that, my son arrived 63 hours after waters first broke. I'd have killed for some cricket to follow. I definitely had the toughest job in the room. Got moaned at a lot.

England leg-spinner Adil Rashid, who took 2-23, on Sky Sports: "The surface was on the slow side. Sometimes you have to adjust the pace. My plan was just to mix it up and see what happens.

"We've got a strong batting line-up, batting right down to nine or 10. Hopefully I won't be needed at 11."

Tried getting in on the texting act a couple times, still yet to feel that glory. Just don't want my first appearance on it to be an awful one.

If we only published decent content, I wouldn't have a job.

The live text is a vehicle for good. Last year it was the BBC Sport audience that helped me fix my fridge. We also once found a corkscrew for an unopened bottle of wine at Lord's. We're looking to move into online dating next. Find love through cricket...
