Triple cooked chips are executed thus - cut chips to preferred size and shape - par-boil in water for 2-3 minutes, remove, drain and dry. Cook chips in very cool oil confit style, the oil should be barely making a bubble. Cool until soft. Remove, drain. Increase heat until oil is properly hot and boiling, cook chips hard and fast until crispy. Jobs a good 'un.

If you're here for the cricket, rather than nonsense about food, Chris Woakes has finished his 10 overs with 4-18. He's been magnificent.

I've been in this position before in the lower order when there's still plenty of overs left. You feel a duty to the team to see the overs out but you've got to get some runs too. It's not nice.

I feel like we need to set some boundaries here. Reheating does not count as cooking something more than once. It's clearly not the same as a triple-cooked chip, which (I think) is cooking something three ways before it's served.

Toast, I'm not sure. However, I've always wondered who was the first person to toast bread. Surely it was an accident?

Lots. Curry, stew, chilli con carne always better cooked, left to cool and then heated to serve

Other foods cooked more than once? Wait until you hear about toast - it'll blow your mind.

That's six wickets for 25 runs, if you're keeping score. Praveen Jayawickrama is the number 11.

There was never a run there, it's that horrible sight for any batter when you look up and see your partner almost stood next to you.

Chameera run out 7 (SL 170-9)

    It's been coming, hasn't it?

After an exhibition in how not to run between the wickets, Sri Lanka have finally suffered a run out.

One batsman sets off, the other doesn't. By the time he does, it's too late, and Dushmantha Chameera is run out by half the pitch.

Sri Lanka look as if they're just trying to bat out the overs. They might get to 200 but that's nowhere near enough, but there isn't much else they can do with the last two wickets.

A Woakes slower ball hits Chameera on the toe. They think about a review but Eoin Morgan, directing operations like a CEO, says no.

Robnoady: Boil your chips until they're soft, then lightly deep-fry, then give them another deep-fry until golden. Presto! Triple-cooked chips. Think it gives them an extra crispness or something, I admit I'm not an eert.

Willey to Chameera. Michael Gough has turned it down, and he's basically Yoda, so it's not likely.

Triple fried chips are surprisingly easy. Chop up your chips, deep fat fry, and remove from the fryer. That's step 1. Step 2, do the same as step 1. Step 3 is the technical part. What you do is deep fat fry the chips again and when cooked, remove from the fryer. And voila!

Indeed. Mark Wood not a happy bunny after that dropped catch. England should be one step closer to their lunch.

There was a bit of Shoaib Akhtar there from Mark Wood. There was some meanness.
