  1. Eng 304-7published at 45 overs

England need 24 from 30 balls.

This is what Pakistan do - drop absolute sitters and then take a cracking grab. The most unpredictable nation in world cricket. And arguably the most exciting.

Brydon Carse is the new batsman in and is beaten outside off! He gets off the mark by just about beating Babar Azam at mid-off and running two.

The pressure is back on England a little bit now. That is the wicket that Pakistan wanted.

As a fielding team you want wickets. That's what wins you games.

That is an excellent catch by Shadab Khan. That is exactly what Pakistan wanted.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 44.1 overs

    Gregory c Shadab b Rauf 77 (Eng 303-7)

It's the wicket Pakistan wanted and needed!

It's a huge leading edge and the ball goes so high. It's in the sky for what seems an age and Shadab Khan, running in from cover, takes a quality catch by silly point.

    Game. On.

It is just about not panicking now. I would still like to be in the batting camp.

It is about taking it deep. Even if there is a few dot balls, there's enough power to catch up. One good over and they really are in a commanding position.

  7. Eng 303-6published at 44 overs

England need 29 from 36 balls

Overton sends the ball squirting to point to bring the in-form and settled Lewis Gregory on strike.

And Gregory does what he has been doing all evening, punishing short Pakistan bowling by pulling it four to bring up England's 300.

Jason Cole: Ok. The team are not well described as the England 2nds, or the fringe players. From now on, regardless of the result today, they are the England Alternatives.

Credit to Gary, the groundsman here, for producing such a fantastic wicket.

  10. Eng 297-6published at 43.3 overs

England need 35 from 39 balls

Shaheen Afridi continues. Three balls, three singles. Sensible batting.

  11. Eng 294-6published at 43 overs

    Target 332

Craig Overton is the new batsman in. Pakistan fielders have a spring in their step, their fans have found their voice.

Rightfully James Vince got a standing ovation. It is a shame he couldn't get them over the line, but he's put them in a terrific position.

Straight to mid-off! Are Pakistan back in this?

It has been an incredibly brilliant innings from James Vince but he won't see England home as he chips it into the hands of Babar Azam.

    This isn't over.

We saw a great partnership earlier, but this is right up there.

Lewis Gregory has played a great cameo, and I am so pleased for James Vince.

Yeahhhhh, he's definitely got something on this evening. This one is bigger and it's better. Another six over mid-wicket.

  18. 6 runs

    Eng 287-5published at 42.1 overs

Has Lewis Gregory got something on this evening? You give the man the tiniest bit of width and he'll latch on. It isn't middled but Gregory, or England fans, won't care - it's six.

    Bowler Haris Rauf looks helpless.

I'm a huge fan of James Vince, and this has been so good to see. You could tell what it meant to him too.

  20. Eng 281-5published at 42 overs

    Target 332

James Vince and Lewis Gregory still have a job to do here, can't get complacent.

They pick up four singles off Shaheen Afridi. The Pakistan seamer has been expensive, going for 61 from eight overs.
