It is an absolute road at Trent Bridge. I say that with experience of having played white-ball cricket here. It is an awkward shape - not a perfect oval. It can be really tricky to defend.

Flames shoot into the sky as the players make their way out. Pakistan are in their Plymouth green. England have come as Crystal Palace.

Babar is the danger man. Incredible player. He can be a really tough customer in this form of the game.

Lewis Gregory might look relatively innocuous but he is a jack of all trades. He is a very useful cricketer to have.

There are three Lancastrians in this England team, which is a great showing for the Red Rose. Mahmood in particular was the stand-out in the ODI series. He was fantastic with the new ball, moved it both ways and did well at the end too.

Eoin Morgan wins the toss and, as he usually does, opts to chase.

Still no return for Jos Buttler, so Dawid Malan opens with Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow takes the gloves. Adil Rashid is rested too.

Saqib Mahmood, Matt Parkinson and Lewis Gregory keep their places from the T20s.
