D Perera 41, Embuldeniya 6
England just want to get this innings done. This partnership is worth 21.

You can see the footholes just starting to develop.
Hello! Lasith Embuldeniya finally gets off the mark by slog sweeping Jack Leach for six.
That takes Sri Lanka beyond 350.

James Anderson's 10 over spell either side of lunch saw him take 3-16.
Away from home, in his last 14 Tests Anderson has taken 49 wickets at 23.47.
D Perera 40, Embuldeniya 0
Wood is too good for Embuldeniya, pushing him back with short balls and then beating the edge with a fuller ball at 90mph. Still, the Sri Lanka number 10 has survived 15 balls now. Every run Perera can add at the other end alongside him could be crucial.
Lasith Embuldeniya does well to evade a Wood bouncer. There'll be more of those coming.
Sadly the heat seems to have beaten Anderson in his quest for an eight-fer. Mark Wood has replaced Jimmy after drinks.

Mark Puttick: James Anderson now has the biggest time between his first and latest five-for in Tests: J Anderson: 17 years, 7 months, 30 days (2003-2021) F Woolley: 17 years, 5 months, 13 days (1912-1930) M Muralitharan: 16 years, 10 months, 22 days (1993-2010).
D Perera 40, Embuldeniya 0
Perera is still using nothing but the centre of his bat. He blocks out a maiden from Leach which takes us to drinks.

Sri Lanka have made reasonable progress and are still very much in this game. Perera has played well for his 40 not out.

Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special
It's been a good session for England after lunch - and we've finally seen the return of Micky Arthur on the screen.
Anderson has a wry smile on his face after seeing the ungainly Embuldeniya go for the biggest of swipes. Embuldeniya berates himself for it.
He missed it by a mile.

Gaz Smith: We really need to find a way to stop this man from ageing any more.
Anderson throws the ball at the stumps at the non-striker's end and Sri Lanka steal a single. He'll have three more balls at Embuldeniya though so won't mind too much.

Freddy Elletson: Spin to win? No. Jim to win. Special.
D Perera 39, Embuldeniya 0
It may just be starting to turn, you know. Not exactly perfect timing for England...
