Suranga Lakmal continues post-drinks and he gets pushed here and there for a series of singles by Joe Root and Jos Buttler. An aerial drive briefly worries Buttler, but he's fortunate that the ball goes on the bounce to mid-on.

Lovely bowling. Lawrence was defending towards mid-on, similar to Zak Crawley.

It has been really good from Sri Lanka this morning. Embuldeniya is bowling beautifully.

    Ah.

That is a very nice delivery from Lasith Embuldeniya, flighted, spinning in, and Dan Lawrence just pushes at it a touch too much as he tries to defend. It's very similar to Zak Crawley's dismissal, actually, a press forward and a sharp outside edge flying to Lahiru Thirimanne at slip.

Since May 2014 when Root came back into the England team he averages 67 against spin. 57 players have faced at least 200 overs and Root has the fourth best average. Only Williamson, Kohli and Pujara have a better record.

Dan Lawrence nails a drive but it's intercepted by the fielder at cover, before he picks up a single off his hips.

Joe Root, meanwhile, just continues on his serene way towards three figures.
