  1. Ind 225-6published at 57 overs

Need 154 runs more runs to avoid the follow-on

Rishabh Pant regrets that shot I think. He absolutely thudded his bat against his pads on his way off. It was a superb innings, though.

Ravichandran Ashwin is the new batsman alongside Washington Sundar. Surely these two are just going to bat sensibly and try to get India through to the end of the day? Surely!

It's hard to criticise because he has played this way all the way through, but if he'd just played sensibly for the next half hour, India would have been in a decent position at the close. If England get Ashwin now, it could be game over because India then have to bat for two days.

    Pant c Leach b Bess 91 (Ind 225-6)

    Ah, cricket!

Rishabh Pant has hit Jack Leach all over the Chidambaram Stadium but he's the man who takes the catch that sees him depart.

Pant only really knows one way of playing, and if you play like that you'll eventually come unstuck, and he keeps going but slices one and Leach takes a good catch in the covers because it went up high.

England are ALL over India here.

Pant is a special talent - to come out and play this type of innings at 73-4 is impressive. He actually got Pujara going too. In footballing terms, it's been an end-to-end game today.

  5. Ind 225-5published at 56.1 overs

Dom Bess will continue after drinks and he bowls another full toss which Rishabh Pant sweeps for four.

    He's into the nineties.

  7. West Indies need 16 to winpublished at 10:12 Greenwich Mean Time 7 February 2021

Kyle Mayers again! His sixth six has brought West Indies within 16 runs of an incredible victory against Bangladesh.

He is 198 not out. West Indies are 379-5.

    Follow here.

Pant has hit it really well for India, and given very few chances to England.

  9. drinks break

    Ind 221-5published at 56 overs

It doesn't work like that Paul - you can't get a hat-trick across different games/teams/series.

It doesn't matter anyway, as Rishabh Pant lets Root's first delivery go by.

Just a single off the over.

    That will be drinks.

Paul McFarland: When Root brings himself on for a twirl he’s presumably on a hat-trick. Wonder if anyone before has three wickets in three balls spread across two series/countries?

Joe Root has decided to take Jack Leach out of the firing line and bring himself on.

It's hard to keep up with the three Tests going on at once.

In Pakistan, South Africa have lost their first wicket early in their bid for an unlikely escape.

Dean Elgar has been caught behind off Shaheen Afridi for 17, leaving the Proteas 37-1 at tea on day four.

They're chasing an unlikely 370 although West Indies are showing anything is possible.

Simon Mahon: Getting the wickets of Pujara, Kohli and Rahane. This must be one of Dom's Besst ever days.

  14. Ind 220-5published at 55 overs

Lovely shot! On the back foot this time, Washington Sundar creams a cut to the fence.

    He looks another cracking player.

  15. Ind 214-5published at 54.1 overs

Full toss from Dom Bess and Washington Sundar just guides it down the ground for four.

India are scoring 3.95 runs an over. Unreal.

  17. Ind 210-5published at 54 overs

Washington Sundar keeps the strike with a single to deep square.

That's eight off that Jack Leach over.

He's really struggling for consistency here. His second ball was perfect, forced Sundar onto the back foot, and there was a bit of extra bounce but the rest were a right pick and mix.

  18. Ind 209-5published at 53.3 overs

Shot! A poor delivery from Jack Leach is wallopped to the cover boundary by Washington Sundar.

That is some way to get off the mark.

  19. Ind 205-5published at 53.1 overs

    Rishabh Pant picks up three.

Jack Leach breathes a sigh of relief.
