Just the Jack Leach single off that over.

It is another gorgeous day in Chennai. The pitch is being baked further.

The players are out in the middle.

This could be over very quickly or it could be incredibly frustrating for India and profitable for England.

Remember the pitch is deteriorating with every ball so the longer the tourists stay out there the better.

India, playing at home, have bowled 1099 balls. Only eight of those have got a wicket. Come on, that's pretty darn impressive from an English point of view.

I hope India pack this in this morning.

The amount of no balls has been poor. In a game that is probably going to be pretty tight they can't be gifting England 19 runs (not to mention the runs England score off the extra ball).

England all-rounder Ben Stokes said it would "be lovely if we could bat for hour in the morning" last night.

Dom Bess, Jack Leach and James Anderson frustrating Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin for an hour?

    Yes please.

England may be near the 600 mark by then, which is a number that captain Joe Root targeted at Close on day one.

Anthony Gale: Up at 4am for the cricket. Then a key period of napping to manage ahead of the Super Bowl at midnight leading into Day 4 of the cricket from 4am-12 noon Monday. Could be a legacy-defining innings for me.

    Morning!

Is it possible that 03:45 GMT is getting earlier every morning? Last night was the best I've slept during this Test. But, in return that means it's arguably the worst I've felt in the morning.

Let's hope that England can keep up their magnificent start to this Test series on day three and get us through.

Win the toss and bat big? Tick.

Now have England got what it takes to make early inroads and bowl India out twice on a pitch that is starting to offer deteriorate?
