  1. Ind 140-4published at 16 overs

Ferocious bowling from Mark Wood - quick (over 90mph), short and angling into the body. But Pant is up to the challenge, fending it off towards short mid-wicket.

Sometimes pace can be your enemy, however, as Wood goes yorker and Pant digs it out very well, the ball racing towards the third-man boundary for four.

Can't really blame the third umpire when they're filming with a potato.

  3. Eng 134-4published at 15.3 overs

Suryakumar Yadav's dismissal is undoubtedly going to be THE talking point of this innings. I think I'm with Swanny, an on-field umpire shouldn't really be giving a soft signal when a batsman is caught in the deep.

Mark Wood is brought back into the attack, Iyer steps across his crease and drags it towards the leg side for four, courtesy of a Sam Curran misfield.

  5. Ind 128-4published at 15 overs

What do they teach young kids learning the game? Foot to the pitch of the ball? Rishabh Pant may have missed that lesson. He doesn't even twitch as he flicks Chris Jordan to the leg side for four. Extraordinary shot, all in the wrists.

Jon Evans: Ooft, that's a tough call. Feel for the batsman there, I have no idea. Gut instinct was probably the ground but then his back fingers looked possibly under the ball and camera zoom flattens image. Who knows.

  7. Ind 122-4published at 14.3 overs

Virat Kohli's reaction to the Suryakumar dismissal was, well, how you'd expect Virat Kohli's reaction to be when a decision goes against his side; jaw wide open, looking perplexed and searching for answers.

The umpires took a loooooong look at that. The main deliberation was whether Dawid Malan squashed the ball into the ground or not. But it proved inconclusive.

An excellent innings by Suryakumar Yadav. Can Shreyas Iyer build on it?

  9. Ind 120-4published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 18 March 2021

Shreyas Iyer says "hiya" to to Sam Curran with a glorious first-ball drive through the covers for four.

He follows it up an aerial cut through point for another boundary, although it was served on a plate by Curran.

These Indian batsman don't hang about do they?

Sixteen - and a controversial wicket - from the over.

Adam: It's not conclusive, soft signal was out, so it's out... Not hard.

Francis Edwards: Soft signal is a joke. He has smashed that into the ground and his fingers are on by the side of the ball. You’d know as a fielder if you really caught that.

"It's not conclusive," TV Umpire Virender Sharma says....

But with the soft signal being out, Suryakumar Yadav heads back to the dugout.

Delight for England, frustration for India.

Why is it always for these close calls the cameras are the ones last used for someone’s submission to You’ve Been Framed in 1993?

Oh, this is close. Did Malan get his fingers underneath it? The cameras have zoomed in and we've seen several different angles, but I still can't decide if it was out or not. Malan looked pretty convinced.

Have England got their man? Suryakumar tries to play a carbon copy of the previous delivery but this time seems to be caught by Dawid Malan. Soft signal is out but the umpires' are sending this upstairs.

Sam Curran into the attack and he's greeted with a spectacular shot by Suryakumar Yadav. Suryakumar preempts a slower ball, gets down low and sends it over the fine leg boundary rope. Superb batting.

Some more wayward bowling from Ben Stokes, far too wide and Pant drills it through cover for another boundary.

Some clever batting this, not taking too many risks but finding the ropes quite easily.

    Very good, Howard.

Ben Stokes continues and Ben Stokes is pulled through long-on for four. Too much width from the England seamer and Pant dispatched it with real conviction.
