When was the last time England opened up with 2 left-arm seamers in any form of cricket? This could be a great question for the next cricket club Zoom quiz!

  2. Ind 32-1published at 7.3 overs

Rohit looks ominous today. Topley is too full and then too wide to start this over. Both deliveries are smacked away by India's opener.

  3. Ind 24-1published at 7 overs

Kohli looks like he has enough time to make a cuppa between the ball leaving Sam Curran's hand and him playing a shot.

  4. Ind 22-1published at 6.2 overs

Too straight from Sam Curran. Virat Kohli flicks him down to the fine leg boundary.

  5. Ind 18-1published at 6 overs

    Rohit 12, Kohli 1

That's Topley's first bad ball today. Rohit bats a full toss away to the rope.

This is England's weakest ODI line up in a long time. A brilliant opportunity for fringe players to make their case and cause selection headaches.

  7. Ind 14-1published at 5.3 overs

Topley is full again and he finds the pad of Rohit Sharma. Up go England in appeal and Topley fancies a review.

The look on Jos Buttler's face suggests he's not going to get his way.

  8. Ind 13-1published at 5 overs

Topley has had four stress fractures - the main cause of his long absence from England's side until last summer. That's another thing that amazes me about professional sportsmen and women. There's no way I'd have the motivation to come back from that.

It's the lack of skill that has stopped me first, mind.

That's Reece's Topley's second international wicket in five years.

  10. Ind 13-1published at 4.1 overs

There's that big bat of Rohit Sharma's I was talking about. He drives Curran perfectly back down the ground for the first boundary of the day.

There is that early swing from Topley. Really good bowling so far, wouldn't be out of place in a Test match. Traditional left-arm swing, and gets one to take the edge of Dhawan.

Well bowled, Reece Topley! He gets the wicket his good start has deserved and it's Shikhar Dhawan, India's top scorer from the first game.

Topley goes full and a bit of swing finds the edge of the left-hander. Ben Stokes takes a good, sharp catch at second slip.

We've had a brief pause while the umpire sanitises the cricket ball. It seems someone has forgotten the no saliva rules.

    Topley is bowling well.

  15. Ind 7-0published at 3 overs

Every time I watch Rohit Sharma bat I am left thinking he plays with a bat wider than everyone else. The ball just seems thud into the middle of it every time.

    Tidy again from Curran.

  16. Ind 6-0published at 2 overs

    Rohit 2, Dhawan 4

A decent, accurate start from Topley.

  17. Ind 5-0published at 1.4 overs

Topley is opening the bowling along with his fellow left-armer Curran. Disappointingly he's without the headband of last summer.

He thumps the ball in and Jos Buttler takes it in front of his chops.

It looks a better, sunnier day in Pune today. It certainly looks warmer than Cockermouth.

Four from the first over as Curran finds a hint of swing.
