    Banton lbw b Roland-Jones 37 (Somerset 79-2, target 285)

    Middlesex needed that.

Tom Banton tries to clip Toby Roland-Jones through the leg side, misses, and the ball strikes him on the pad. Out.

  2. Bad light stops play at Edgbastonpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Derbyshire (189 & 71-5) lead Warwickshire (221) by 39 runs

Players off at Edgbaston as the skies get gloomier.

Cover currently not on the wicket though which suggests it may not be too long a delay with Warwickshire in the driving seat.

  3. Postpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Middlesex v Somerset 69-1 (target 285)

Somerset captain Tom Abell moves into the 40s.

He flicks Tom Helm off his hip to the square leg rope and follows it two balls later with a cut shot to the boundary.

    Somerset are going well.

  4. Early tea taken at Headingleypublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

Outfield still covered in sleet at Headingley, but it has stopped at least.

They're going to take tea at 15:10 BST and see what the situation looks like after that between Yorkshire and Glamorgan.

  5. Five-wicket haul for Oliver Hannon-Dalbypublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Derbyshire (189 & 71-5) lead Warwickshire (221) by 39 runs

I put the commentator's curse on Wayne Madsen there.

Apologies Derbyshire fans as no sooner had I written that, Madsen was dismissed by a beauty of a delivery from Oliver Hannon-Dalby that found the outside edge and was held at third slip to reduce his side to 71-5.

Hannon-Dalby has taken all five and has figures of 5-29.

Derbyshire with a lead of just 39.

  6. Hutton does it again for Nottspublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

Hutton bowls JonesImage source, Rex Features

A sight every fast bowler loves to see and batsmen fear.

Brett Hutton picks up another wicket early in Durham's second innings as Michael Jones is bowled for just five.

Durham 27-3 now with a lead of just 87 over Nottinghamshire.

At Edgbaston, Matt Critchley and Wayne Madsen continue to edge Derbyshire gradually ahead.

The visitors now 70-4 with a lead of 38 against Warwickshire.

  7. Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Middlesex v Somerset 53-1 (target 285)

Fifty up for Somerset and it's also the fifty stand between captain Tom Abell and Tom Banton.

It comes as Abell flicks Tom Helm fine for four.

Somerset need another 232 to win at Lord's,

  8. 50 runs

for Burnspublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Group 2 update

Early season runs for Surrey and England opener Rory Burns. The left-hander goes to fifty with his side going along nicely now against Gloucestershire.

They're 104-3 and just a couple of runs away from moving into the lead. England team-mate Ben Foakes has 29 at the other end.

  9. 100 runs

for Vasconcelospublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Group 3 update

Northants opener Ricardo Vasconcelos reaches a rapid century off just 120 balls in the midst of hitting MIguel Cummins for three fours in a row.

His side are 191-4 in their first innings, replying to Kent's 455.

Elsewhere in Yorkshire's group, Red Rose rivals Lancashire are 399-8 against Sussex, a lead of 98, with Dane Vilas approaching his double century. He's 183 not out.

    LibbyImage source, Rex Features

Jake Libby's fine rearguard for Worcestershire continues at Chelmsford.

He skips down the pitch and lofts Simon Harmer for a one-bounce four down to long-on to move on to 63.

Ed Barnard (11 not out) has come out to join him as the Pears bid to keep Essex at bay for as long as possible.

  11. Notts strike againpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Group 1 update

    Brett HuttonImage source, Rex Features

Nottinghamshire have now picked up two early wickets in Durham's second innings at Trent Bridge.

Brett Hutton's dismissed Scott Borthwick for just one and Durham are 14-2 with a lead of 77.

At Edgbaston meanwhile, Derbyshire are hanging in there against Warwickshire.

They are 58-4 in their second innings, a lead of just 26.

  12. Postpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Middlesex v Somerset 36-1 (target 285)

    Lovely batting from Tom Banton.

The England batsman punches Ethan Bamber down the ground for four, and a couple of deliveries later strokes him through the off side for another boundary.

    Banton's up to 19.

  13. Burns & Foakes settle Surreypublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Group 2 update

England pair Rory Burns and Ben Foakes have led a mini Surrey recovery against Gloucestershire.

They've put on 33 to take Surrey to 81-3, with Burns approaching his half-century. They still trail by 25 however.

In the other match in Middlesex's group, Leicestershire are 33-1 after being asked to follow on by Hampshire. Still a mammoth 377 runs away from avoiding an innings defeat.

  14. Postpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Middlesex v Somerset 19-1 (target 285)

It's watchful stuff from Tom Banton and Somerset captain Tom Abell. Tim Murtagh and Ethan Bamber aren't giving them anything loose with the ball.

    Eight overs gone.

  15. Under-soil heating neededpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Glamorgan (330 & 161-4) lead Yorkshire (193) by 298 runs

    HeadingleyImage source, Rex Features

They probably have got it next door at the home of Leeds Rhinos, but not on the cricket ground sadly.

Sleet still falling at Headingley where it looks unlikely that Yorkshire and Glamorgan will get back on again today.

  16. Bears in controlpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Group 1 update

Elsewhere in the same group as Essex and Worcestershire, play has also resumed after lunch.

Warwickshire are well on top against Derbyshire who have only just edged back ahead after being reduced to 34-4 before lunch by the Bears' seamers.

It's a lead of just four runs now for the visitors, who are 36-4 in their second innings.

At Trent Bridge, Durham had the worst possible start to their second innings before lunch when Alex Lees was leg before for a third-ball duck to Luke Fletcher.

Durham now 1-1, which is a lead of 64 over Nottinghamshire, who earlier made 267 in their first innings.

Simon Harmer into the game for Essex in the first over after lunch at Chelmsford.

Ben Cox plays a rather ambitious attempted sweep against the off-spinner but is wrapped on the front pad and given out leg before.

Not the start Worcestershire were looking for to this afternoon session.

    Middlesex v Somerset 9-1 (target 285)

Tom Banton gets up on his toes and punches Ethan Bamber in front of point to the boundary.

The England batsman is off the mark.

    Group 3 update

Debutant seamer Sean Hunt has picked up a couple of wickets for Sussex at Old Trafford after their delayed start. Luke Wood and Danny Lamb the men to go to leave Lancashire 354-7 and leading by 53. Dane Vilas is still there on 166.

Elsewhere in Yorkshire's group, rain rather than snow is holding up Northants and Kent.

  20. Snow stops playpublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 10 April 2021

    Glamorgan (330 & 161-4) lead Yorkshire (193) by 298 runs

This might take a while to clear the outfield....
