Harry Swindells called Colin Ackerman (37) through for the quick single and the Leicestershire captain was a little slow to respond and James Vince threw the stumps down with the batsman inches from safety.
After that it was a procession.
Kyle Abbott picked up Ben Mike, then Mason Crane found some turn and together with with some pinpoint accuracy and Liam Dawson's excellent slip catching, his spell of 3-11 this morning helped consign the home side to following-on, an awfully long way behind.

The lead is still a healthy 272, but Somerset may well have a chase of around 300 or less now.
Group 1 update
Warwickshire all out at Edgbaston for 221 against Derbyshire which gives them a lead of 32 after the visitors made 189.
Nottinghamshire have lost a couple of quick wickets against Durham after Brett Hutton made 51 and Luke Fletcher lasted just two balls.
Tom Moores (69 not out) continues though as his side have 236-9 in reply to Durham's 330.
Group 2 update
Hampshire have just bowled out Leicestershire for 202. Surely they'll enforce the follow-on with a lead of 410 and a bit of weather about?
Elsewhere Surrey have lost a wicket in their second innings at Gloucestershire. Mark Stoneman the man to go, lbw to Ryan Higgins, to leave them 41-1, trailing by 65. England's Rory Burns has 22.
Worcestershire (106-4) trail Essex (490-9 dec) by 386 runs
And a well-deserved half-century for Worcestershire opener Jake Libby at Chelmsford.
A fine shot down the ground off Simon Harmer takes him there with his fourth boundary in his 110-ball stay at the crease so far.

This is turning into an excellent morning session for Somerset.
Stevie Eskinazi tries to guide Josh Davey to third man but Craig Overton leaps to his right to take a fine low catch with one hand.
Middlesex are still favourites as they lead by 268, but Somerset are giving themselves a chance.
Glamorgan (330 & 125-4) lead Yorkshire (193) by 262 runs
Half-century for Billy Root at Headingley as he continues to dominate the battle of the brothers.
It's come from 125 balls and included five fours.
He and skipper Chris Cooke (48 not out) are continuing to build what could be a match-wiining fifth-wicket partnership for the visitors.
Worcestershire (96-4) trail Essex (490-9 dec) by 394 runs
A 50 partnership comes up for Worcestershire for their fifth wicket as Jake Libby (44 not out) and Riki Wessels (28 not out) continue their fine counter-attack.
There's also the hint of some rain around Chelmsford so they may not be out there for the whole of this morning session.
Group 1 update
At Edgbaston, Derbyshire are just about keeping Warwickshire in check with a couple of quick wickets.
Matthew Lamb and Craig Miles have departed in the space six runs as the Bears are just halted a touch at 212-8 with a lead of 23 in reply to Derbyshire's 189.
At Trent Bridge, Nottinghamshire ar continuing to chip away at Durham's lead with Tom Moores and Brett Hutton's eighth-wicket partnership building further and now worth 85.
Notts now 226-7 in reply to Durham's 330.
Middlesex 313 & 125-4 v Somerset 172

The 27-year-old gets there off 116 balls with a ninth four. He's putting his side into a match-winning position.
Middlesex lead by 266.
Lancashire 339-5 v Sussex 301 - start delayed, rain
They're hopeful of getting some play in Manchester in about an hour.
Elsewhere in Group 3, Harry Podmore has just picked up a wicket for Kent to leave Northants 135-4 and in trouble. They're still 320 behind.

Group 2 update
Surrey and England opener Rory Burns is up and running in the second innings. The left-hander has struck three fours to move to 14 with Surrey on 23-0 against Gloucestershire.
They still trail by 83.
Hampshire continue to take Leicestershire wickets at Grace Road - the hosts are 187-8 having lost four this morning and are 425 behind Hampshire's first-innings 612-5 declared.

Tom Moores (58 not out) was put down in the slips by skipper Scott Borthwick when he was on eight late on day two. He's now reached his half century. It came in 92 balls and included 11 fours.
Brett Hutton (41 not out), who has struggled for runs in his previous three years at Northants, has been dropped in the slips in the early exchanges today when on 24.
He edged Brydon Carse to David Bedingham at first slip. It was a straightforward chance which somehow got spilled. When Borthwick dropped Moores yesterday it was after a rain break and the ball was damp.
Moores and Hutton have now added 73 and Notts have reached a batting point.

Jake Libby (33 not out) and Riki Wessels (12 not out) have been turning over the strike with some neat quick singles and shots on both sides of the wicket to try and keep the Essex seam attack at bay.

Plenty of eyes on England opener Rory Burns right now as the Surrey captain makes his way to the crease on the back of a first-innings failure.

Yorkshire have been hampered on this third day by injuries to two of their key seam bowlers.
Ben Coad has a pectoral injury and Matthew Fisher an abdominal injury.
Yorkshire have confirmed both will not bowl again in this game and will be assessed early next week.
Steve Patterson and Duanne Olivier are doing their best to lead the attack in their absence.

After his first-innings unbeaten century, 44-year-old Darren Stevens is now in the wickets for Kent.
He's taken two this morning to leave Northants 106-3, trailing by 349 runs.
The other game in Yorkshire's group - Lancashire v Sussex - is delayed by rain at Old Trafford.
