  1. wicket

Gloucestershire all out for 320published at 17:37 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Hampshire 470 v Gloucestershire 320

Matthew Taylor edges to James Vince off Liam Dawson for 11 and that's the end of Gloucestershire's first innings.

Hampshire have enforced the follow-on and that will bring Kraigg Brathwaite and Chris Dent back to the middle to face the six over left in the day.

They start trailing by exactly 150 runs.

    Warwickshire 284 v Essex 295 & 183-8

Essex are nudging their lead towards 200.

What a vital innings this could be from Simon Harmer. The South African has made 39 and has now been in the middle for more than two hours.

  3. Postpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Worcs 436 v Notts 276 & 41-0 (f/o)

Notts' second innings is off to a solid start in the evening sunshine at New Road.

Ben Slater has struck five boundaries in his unbeaten 27, while Haseeb Hameed has been his usual patient self at the other end.

I'd imagine Hameed is pretty tired after batting for more than six hours in the first innings.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Cox c Jones b Parkinson 80 (Kent 169 & 176-1 & v Lancashire 525)

    Breakthrough for Lancashire at last.

Jordan Cox's innings comes to an end as he plays a shot through the covers but only succeeds in picking out fielder Rob Jones who pouches it.

Fellow opener Daniel Bell-Drummond is playing a captain's innings and is still there on 89 not out and he's now joined by Zak Crawley.

If you can stretch your mind back to about 11am this morning you may remember that Crawley was one of three men to be out from the first ball of the day.

  7. Postpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Warwickshire 284 v Essex 295 & 161-7

These are some really handy lower-order runs for Essex from Simon Harmer and Peter Siddle.

Both have first-class centuries, and both have huge amounts of experience and nous.

Their stand is worth 24 and Essex lead by 172.

  8. 50 runs

for Selmanpublished at 17:07 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Northants 364 v Glamorgan 407 & 136-2

It's a first half-century of the season for Glamorgan opener Nick Selman.

His partnership with Billy Root is now worth over 80 and has moved Glamorgan into a lead of 182.

  9. Postpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Hampshire 470 v Gloucestershire 314-9

    Gloucestershire are nine down!

It's been a bit of a collapse from the lower order as the afternoon has worn on and Liam Shaw is the latest man to depart.

He scored 12 before being bowled by Liam Dawson.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Van Zyl b Bess 24 (Sussex 221 & 86-5) v Yorkshire 150 & 305)

    Now this is getting interesting!

It's Dom Bess doing the damage again as he brings Stiaan van Zyl's watchful innings to close.

Then with the next ball he removes new man Delray Rawlins who's caught behind by Jonathan Tattersall.

George Garton survives the hat-trick ball but Sussex are in trouble and this game is well and truly on a knife-edge now.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Clark c Brook b Bess 6 (Sussex 221 & 86-3 v Yorkshire 150 & 305)

Dom Bess finds the edge and Tom Clark is caught at silly point by Harry Brook.

That's the spinner's third of the game and Yorkshire are picking-up wickets when they need to.

Sussex need 149 to win and skipper Ben Brown has joined Stiaan van Zyl out in the middle.

  12. SOMERSET BEAT LEICESTERSHIREpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 24 April 2021
    Breaking

    Somerset (318 & 118-1) beat Leicestershire (233 & 199) by nine wickets

    Somerset celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Somerset have absolutely cruised to their target of 115.

Tom Lammonby is unbeaten on 70 - much-needed runs for the opener and Tom Abell finishes with 35.

But it was the bowlers who did the damage in the first two sessions, led by Craig Overton with his fantastic 5-25 off 18 overs.

It's a second victory in their opening three Group Two matches for Somerset. Leicestershire are still looking for their first win.

  13. Postpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Hampshire 470 v Gloucestershire 302-8

Mason Crane's spin is doing the business for Hampshire.

He takes his third wicket in quick succession, completely bamboozling Daniel Worrall who takes a large step to leave the ball, only for it to straighten sharply and send the bails flying.

Gloucestershire have got no answer to him at present!

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Lawrence run out 55 (Warwickshire 284 v Essex 295 & 137-7)

    BIG wicket for Warwickshire.

Dan Lawrence is run out for 55.

Essex's lead stands at 148 with three wickets in hand. Where's your money?

  15. Postpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Kent 169 &156-0 v Lancashire 525

Lancashire are still searching for a breakthrough at Canterbury where openers Daniel Bell-Drummond (82*) and Jordan Cox (67*) are frustrating their bowling attack.

Kent are now closing in on their first innings total and are yet to lose a wicket.

They trail by 201 runs but this partnership has improved their rather gloomy outlook.

  16. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Warwickshire 284 v Essex 295 & 133-6

They're back out after tea at Edgbaston.

Big session coming up with the game in the balance. Essex lead by 144 with four wickets in hand.

  17. 50 runs

for Lammonbypublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Leics v Somerset 87-1 (target 115)

    He needed that.

After making 13 runs in his first five innings this season, Somerset opener Tom Lammonby brings up his half-century off just 63 balls.

He's taking his side to a comfortable victory.

  18. Postpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Hampshire 470 v Gloucestershire 289-7

Mason Crane has picked-up two important scalps in two overs. His first is the wicket of George Hankins who he pins lbw.

Hankins misjudged Crane's spin and the ball hits his pads as he rocks back to attempt a shot onto the leg side.

Then in his next over Crane does for Ryan Higgins who had been holding the Gloucestershire innings together, top-scoring for his side with 73.

The West Country side still trail by 181.

  19. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Leics v Somerset 79-1 (target 115)

Somerset are cruising to their target.

Tom Lammonby is up to 44 and skipper Tom Abell has 24 in a stand worth 69.

    36 more needed.

  20. Postpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Sussex 221 & 68-2 v Yorkshire 150 & 305

Yorkshire have their second wicket and it's Jordan Thompson who tempts Tom Haines into a shot which he edges down the leg-side to the waiting Jonathan Tattersall.

Stiaan van Zyl and Tom Clark are now at the crease, with Sussex requiring 167.
