  1. Leach breaks stubborn standpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Leics 233 & 126-5 v Somerset 318

Somerset spinner Jack Leach has finally taken Leicestershire's fifth wicket.

And it's the big one of Lewis Hill.

The batsman falls for 47, caught at slip, just short of a fifth Championship half-century in a row.

  2. wicket

Surrey all out for 130published at 12:20 British Summer Time 24 April 2021

    Virdi lbw b Roland-Jones 0 (Middlesex 268 v Surrey 154 & 130)

Middlesex will need 17 for victory.

Surrey's last man Amar Virdi only lasts three balls before he's gone lbw to Toby Roland-Jones.

    The paceman ends with 4-29.

That's some collapse by Surrey this morning from 105-3 to 130 all out.

    Kent 128-7 v Lancashire 525

Darren Stevens hasn't lasted long and now Kent are seven down in Canterbury.

He scored one run from five balls before Matthew Parkinson trapped him lbw to leave Kent in an even more precarious position.

    Topley b Roland-Jones 4 (Middlesex 268 v Surrey 154 & 130-9)

And that batting average of 4.84 might drop a notch.

Reece Topley is bowled by Toby Roland-Jones for four to leave Surrey nine down.

    The lead remains at 16.

    Middlesex 268 v Surrey 154 & 130-8

Reece Topley and Kemar Roach are the men tasked with getting Surrey out of this massive hole.

Both quality bowlers, but I'm not confident they've got a big stand in them.

Topley has a first-class batting average of 4.84.

    Ballance lbw Carson 74 (Sussex 221 v Yorkshire 150 & 228-7)

Jack Carson has taken the important wicket of Gary Ballance and that's his fourth of the innings.

An impressive knock comes to an end after the left-hander was pinned lbw.

    Clarke lbw b Murtagh 3 (Middlesex 268 v Surrey 154 & 130-8)

This game is coming to a rapid conclusion now.

Rikki Clarke pushes forward at a full one from Tim Murtagh, hit on the pad and up goes the finger.

Surrey are eight down with a lead of just 16.

  8. wicket

    Parnell b Weighell 54 (Northants 323-8 v Glamorgan 407)

Glamorgan needed something to break-up this partnership and James Weighell is the man who has come up with the goods.

He's bowled Wayne Parnell for 54 but not before the South African added a valuable partnership with Gareth Berg who is still there on 57 not out.

    Kent 124-6 v Lancashire 525

Well, I was typing out an entry on how Kent had recovered well from losing Zak Crawley - one of three batsmen out with the first ball of the day - but things have changed.

Heino Kuhn has gone for 21, top-edging a sweep off Matt Parkinson's bowling to give Rob Jones an easy catch.

Darren Stevens joins Ollie Robinson (15*) out in the middle.

    Leics 233 & 86-4 v Somerset 318

Since losing Rishi Patel to the first ball of the morning, it's been a good fightback from Leicestershire pair Harry Swindells and Lewis Hill.

Hill is on 27 and hoping to make it a fifth half-century in consecutive innings.

Leicestershire now lead by one run.

    Northants 318-7 v Glamorgan 407

A good debut just got even better for Wayne Parnell as he makes his way to a half-century, which included seven fours.

He and Gareth Berg (47*) have scored runs quickly this morning and their partnership is moving Northants ever closer to their target.

Sussex's George Garton has picked-up his fifth wicket of the match, removing Steve Patterson for 12.

Another half-century clocked-up this morning and this time it's for Gloucestershire's James Bracey.

He's started the season in cracking form, averaging over 100 from his first three matches and his innings will have a big say in how this game goes from here.
