Lunch: Surrey 95-0 v Middlesex

Rory Burns and Mark Stoneman played exceptionally well to guide Surrey through the morning session unscathed.
In bowler friendly conditions and against a good Middlesex attack, both openers showed skill and experience in front of an appreciative crowd.
And that was the best thing about this morning. Having a crowd and a proper applause. Just wonderful.

How typically cricket!
Spectators allowed back in for the first time in 20 months, to be greeted by steel-grey clouds and a cold wind sweeping intermittent drizzle across the Bristol County Ground from the west.
Among those spectators, it will be the sizable contingent from Somerset who were probably the happier as the players took a rain-dictated early lunch.
Tom Lammonby was culpably run out early on, but thereafter Eddie Byrom and Tom Abell have batted with skill and circumspection to keep the Gloucestershire bowlers at bay in seam-friendly conditions.

A good morning for the County Champions with some disciplined bowling making things tough for Warwickshire despite the visitors winning the toss at Chelmsford.
The wicket has offered some good bounce and carry with Peter Siddle getting things going with wickets in each of his opening two overs, notably removing Rob Yates’ middle stump.
Dom Sibley has grafted himself to 28 and looks to be the man around which Warwickshire will look to build a decent first innings.

It's now officially lunch in Northampton with rain falling by the River Nene.
A very solid morning for the Red Rose having been asked to bat.

This is turning into a fine morning session for Leicestershire now.
Ed Barnes traps Ian Holland lbw for 82, and Hampshire's in-form opener is gone.

That 12:30 BST inspection at Canterbury hasn't revealed too much.
They're having an early lunch with the wet outfield still a concern.

This is a superb morning for Surrey.
Stuck in but apart from two very tight lbw shouts against Rory Burns, it's been largely plain sailing.
Middlesex will be pretty concerned.

South Africa batsman Pieter Malan edges Jamie Porter to slip and is on his way cheaply.

20 overs at Bristol so far this morning and a steady start for Somerset having been sent in.

Dom Sibley has certainly found his feet again after that four-week layoff with a broken finger.
The England opener has 20 off 77 balls on an attritional morning at Chelmsford.

Leicestershire have picked up two wickets in nine balls at The Ageas Bowl.
First Tom Alsop edged Alex Evans to slip for 25 and Sam Northeast followed in the next over, bowled by Chris Wright with an absolute beauty.
Captain James Vince has come in at five.
Northants v Lancs 59-0
Northampton is generally one of the drier grounds in the country but not so today.
A really good hour and a bit for Lancashire having been sent in.

Wasn't a long delay at Nevil Road and Tom Abell and Eddie Byrom are back out there for the visitors.
Surrey 54-0 v Middlesex
Rory Burns gets a thick outside edge to third man and brings up Surrey's fifty.
And how absolutely splendid to hear it greeted with a warm round of applause from a really good crowd given the restrictions.
Looks a good deck and Surrey have made a nice start.

Peter Siddle has just picked up his second wicket of the morning at Chelmsford.
The Essex paceman bowled Rob Yates without scoring.
Warwickshire and England opener Dom Sibley is sticking in. He's on 16 off 53 balls.
