England are, I believe the phrase is, in all sorts of trouble.
Need 15 more to avoid the follow-on
We have players emerging onto the outfield. Time to head back behind the sofa.
I'm convinced Ollie Pope will come good. His first-class record is so impressive I think he has to. I'm less sure about some of the others.

Raymond Griffith: This has to be the weakest England top order for at least three decades.
I doubt it, Jeremy.

Jeremy Stone: I see Dawid Malan is going well. Any chance of a spot in the Test side during the summer?
The County Championship continues today with seven matches taking place.
Things are looking Englandy at Chelmsford where Essex are 15-3.
Elsewhere, Dawid Malan is currently 162 not out for Yorkshire.

I've got Roy Keane's contract from when he signed for Man United. He'd given it to the PFA's financial services arm and didn't ask for it back!

Your stories of random, forgotten and forbidden memorabilia have been keeping me smiling...
Positive? Me? I think you're talking about someone else.
Happy First Collapse of the Summer Day.
It won't be the last.
I'm going for a brew. Matt Henry will try and put a positive spin on things.

It's definitely been the Kiwis' morning. We were worried that it might fizzle; it has now become quite lively.
From 140-6, England were mighty grateful for Rory Burns and Ollie Robinson as they reached 164 without further loss by lunch. Burns, who has watched it all unfold from the other end, is unbeaten on 72 - he scored 13 runs in that session - and Robinson has 16 to his name.
The superb Tim Southee accounted for Ollie Pope, Dan Lawrence and debutant James Bracey in the space of nine balls. None of them will be particularly proud of the strokes they played.
There was the odd moment of joy for England, but to be honest we're clutching at straws...
Just joining us? You've missed a fair bit. Resuming on 111-2, England made the worst possible start as captain and lynchpin Joe Root fell for 42 to the first ball of the day.
