Jamieson, like all very tall bowlers, pushes you on to the back front. I found with Joel Garner, who is the same height as Jamieson, it was very hard to get on to the front foot. It is quite hard to pick up the length of the delivery because it is coming from higher.
Awkward is the best description.

I'm supposed to go to a stag do this afternoon but if Pope produces anymore cover drives like that I may have to reconsider.

Pope has looked good, hasn't he?

Ollie Pope plays some absolutely cracking shots.
He cashes in as Kyle Jamieson strays onto his hip and he's able to clip it away with all the time in the world for four.

Two really well-timed shots in this over from Ollie Pope.
Shot! Better from Ollie Pope as he unfurls a cover drive for four off Tim Southee.
And again! This time it's a fuller delivery from Southee, into Pope's pads, and Pope times it beautifully to ping it through mid-wicket for another four.

Rory Burns was fortunate to survive. He has had a few close calls on lbws. England are under a bit of pressure.

That lbw shout, incidentally, would have been umpire's call on height.
Ollie Pope is going to get another boundary but he knew absolutely nothing about it, another leading edge flying in the air and beating the despairing gully fielder.
Jamieson then gets a first crack at Rory Burns and there's an lbw shout straight away. A little high, maybe?

Those are the first runs of the day and they are a little bit streaky.
Ollie Pope gets his and England's first runs of the day with a streaky outside edge that beats a diving third slip and races away to the boundary.
Pope then follows it up with a horrible, Zak Crawley-esque swish at a wide delivery.
Please, please, please don't do that.
