It's hard to see a route back into this game for Sri Lanka.

Jason Roy is known for his striking power, but he's nurdling the ball around well here too. He ends the over with a clever little nudge off a Nuwan Pradeep slower ball.

Jos Buttler is on top of a short wide one from Dushmantha Chameera and cuts it for four. Like a knife through butter. Jason Roy gets over the top of another short ball and pulls it the boundary. Effortless for England so far.

Jos Buttler's fast hands allow him to cream Dushmantha Chameera down the ground for four. Buttler goes for another ramp shot next ball, but completely misses it this time.

Sri Lanka are still below par, but Shanaka has given them a fighting chance. Six an over against this England batting line-up, it's short of the mark.

Nuwan Pradeep scuttles in with his head forward, kind of like roadrunner. Jos Buttler scoops him over the wicketkeeper but his timing is not quite there and Jason Roy calls him through for a single. Roy advances down the pitch next ball and effortlessly clips it through square leg for four.

That was an exampe of what we didn't see in the Sri Lanka innings - just a beautiful cricket shot. He just leans on it through the covers.

Decent pace from Dushmantha Chameera who is the upper end of the 80mph mark. Jos Buttler, however, times a beautiful drive through cover for England's first boundary off the fourth ball before pinching the strike.

Dushmantha Chameera starts with two dots balls as Jason Roy wafts the bat at two balls outside off stump before a thick edge down to third man gets England up and running.

Thanks Amy. Sri Lanka finish with a flourish but they seem at least 30 or 40 runs light given the power in England's batting. If they manage to target the shorter boundaries at Sophia Garden this could be over pretty quickly.
