  1. SL 75-4published at 12.1 overs

Excellent work all round, as Kusal Perera clatters a drive past Chris Woakes and a tumbling, diving Jonny Bairstow stops it reaching the boundary rope and relays it back to Chris Jordan, who cannons a throw back in to the keeper.

Chris Woakes is coming back into the attack for England.

It's a good time to use Adil Rashid. Eoin Morgan has a clear plan with the way he has chopped and changed his bowlers. He has also sensed a chance to attack with a slip in place. The field is well set here.

    Shanaka 7, Perera 29

Dasun Shanaka plays an awkward shovel into the leg side that drops just short of an advancing Dawid Malan, and the tourists settle for five from the over.

Sri Lanka face some challenges having not played that much T20 cricket this year. They need to get to the 160 mark to have a chance here. With this England batting line-up they already seem behind the game at the moment.

  7. SL 69-4published at 11 overs

    Run-rate 6.27

Mark Wood recovers from the ignominy of being hit for six as Sri Lanka stick to singles for the rest of the over. That's the most expensive of the innings, I'd wager.

If you were batting first, you'd be looking at 160 and above. It's a case of getting someone in, getting used to the pace of the wicket, and trying to stay there for a little bit.

  9. 6 runs

    SL 64-4published at 10.2 overs

An actual boundary! And it's a six!

It's quite nicely controlled by Kusal Perera as he ducks his head and flicks at Mark Wood, getting enough bat on ball to clear Adil Rashid at fine leg and pop it into the stands.

  10. SL 57-4published at 10 overs

Liam Livingstone works his way through another spotless over that Sri Lanka just cannot get away. At the halfway point, they are going nowhere.

    Meanwhile, in the T20 Blast...

  12. SL 52-4published at 9 overs

Mark Wood cranks up the pace to 92mph to welcome Dasun Shanaka to the crease, and makes the poor batter look slightly hapless in the process.

You can see the thinking of Dhananjaya de Silva wanting to use the pace of the ball, but it went straight to third man. Mark Wood set that one up with the previous delivery. He is bowling with great pace, consistently at the 90mph mark, which takes some doing. He is charging in.

    Dhananjaya c Rashid b Wood 3 (SL 52-4)

I mean, it's not brilliant batting, this.

Almost as if they're doing morning catching practice, Dhananjaya de Silva leans back and lofts Mark Wood straight to Adil Rashid down on the third man boundary.

  15. SL 52-3published at 8.2 overs

Dhananjaya de Silva is beaten all ends up by Mark Wood.

It was fired in quick by Liam Livingstone, right into the crease, and it looked out. It shows where Sri Lanka are as a team that they reviewed that decision. It was a bit of a shocker.

Well, it looked very out, and it was very out.

Ball tracking reckons that would have been thudding into middle stump, and Kusal Mendis is on his way.
