That's about your lot for this evening. It wasn't a pretty win for England, but with some slow pitches expected at the T20 World Cup in the subcontinent later in the year this was a useful exercise in grinding out a win - even if we all craved a few more boundaries.

England play their third and final T20 international against Sri Lanka at Southampton on Saturday at 14:30 BST. Join us on the BBC Sport website for a live text commentary of that match.

    Goodbye for now.

"England were impressive with the ball and in the field, bowling 52 dot balls" is the verdict of my esteemed colleague Callum Matthews in his match report. Worth a quick read with your bedtime malt drink, or cup of cocoa if you prefer. You can find it here...

Hard to disagree with that assessment Mohammed.

Eoin Morgan on BBC Two: "Our bowling was right on point, the wicket played similarly to yesterday and batters on both sides struggled to get it away. You want to see batters entertain a bit more especially with crowds back but it ended up a good tight game anyway.

"We seemed to lose a wicket every time we took a risk which is a shame, but it was a good partnership between Sam Billings and Liam Livingstone. We want to see guys come in and backing themselves."

I'd like to be Eoin Morgan with the depth he has. It's a great opportunity over the course of the summer for fringe players to show their worth. Liam Livingstone is probably just ahead of Sam Billings having been not out at the end there.

Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur on BBC Two: "England are ranked number one in the world and we are ranked nine. It's about learning from every game and getting better and better as we go along.

"We talked about taking the handbrake off, and we need to be a bit more proactive, but our batters are learning all the time especially in these conditions.

"I was proud of the way we fought back. Our fielding has gone up a level with the attitude. I am excited by the bowling unit and we have a good batting unit in our country, and it's about transferring that to different conditions."

It was difficult for Sri Lanka's batsmen to get going. To not hit a boundary in the powerplay at all sets the wrong tone. They came back well with the ball, though. England probably thought they would knock it off in no time but they were made to graft for it.

I want to see Sri Lanka's batsmen really go after it in the final T20 match. They have nothing to lose now.

England pace bowler Mark Wood, who took 2-18 from four overs, on BBC Two: "At the minute I'm happy with my job just charging in and bowling as fast as I can. I keep asking the captain if he wants me to try a slower ball but he keeps saying no!

"On this pitch we felt back of a length was the key. I wanted to give that a chance for the hat-trick ball but I went short and wide, which definitely wasn't the plan, but I fell over again so at least they could see I was putting the effort in."
