I play with a smile on my face like Mark Wood! I can get a bit serious and grumpy when I play so it's good to have someone like Mark at mid-on with a smile of his face. He's an asset to the England side. Eoin Morgan uses him well, in little bursts. He uses him smartly in the middle periods to try and break a partnership, or sometimes at the death.

  3. 'Burning passion for Sri Lanka'published at 18:26 British Summer Time 24 June 2021

Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara has been speaking to BBC Stumped about the state of the game in his homeland.

He said: "There have been many great people who have raised the profile of the game and Sri Lanka through their exploits.

"The current crop of players are no different. They have ambition, burning passion for the game and fiercely proud of representing their country.

"I know the talent and sacrifice they make for Sri Lanka cricket."

Here's the weather forecast for Cardiff.

We might get the odd little rain shower, but hopefully it isn't heavy enough to force the players off.

We're still at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff for today's game.

We'll be using the same pitch that was used last night, which was a little two-paced and slow at times.

England captain Eoin Morgan has spoke about a desire for his side to play on tricky pitches in the past, to aid them in World Cup situations where pitches do tend to deteriorate as the tournament progresses.

That's highly likely to be in the case in October and November's Twenty20 World Cup, regardless of whether it takes place in India or Abu Dhabi.

Sri Lanka have used more players than any other country since the last World Cup. They are a team in transition at the moment.

Sri Lanka also make two changes: Niroshan Dickwella comes in for Dhananjaya de Silva, while Nuwan Pradeep makes way for Binura Fernando.

It is disappointing not to see Chris Woakes - you've got to feel for him if there's no injury. He's talked publicly about his tough winter, and he is probably the most rested man in cricket. He bowled brilliantly yesterday.

Eoin Morgan on BBC Two: "I would have looked to do the same had we won the toss so nothing changes. We like chasing because if we play well it suits us, but ultimately we have to play well.

"Jos Buttler misses out with a calf strain while Chris Woakes can't play two days in a row so Sam Billings and David Willey come in. The level of intensity in last night's win was as good as it has been for a while. We want to continue to do that in this game."

Jos Buttler is England's greatest ever white-ball player because he can bat anywhere.

This is an important match for a number of reasons. Going into the T20 World Cup you want to win games while Eoin Morgan wants the chance to rotate the side and have a look at some fringe players who can do a job in the tournament.
