You don't need any slips - just hit the furniture! That movement did for Jonny through the gate.
Bairstow b Fernando 0 (Eng 2-1)
Binura Fernando bowls Sri Lanka's second over and he's cleaned up Jonny Bairstow with a full ball which clean bowls him through the gate.

A real high-class first over. The skipper has got to react. He's got to put another slip in - they need wickets.

Ashbournehammer: How can the T20 side be so good at the basic skills of fielding, catching etc... yet the Test team are so poor. Is it not the same coaches if not why not?
Dushmantha Chameera has clearly watched England's pace bowlers as he continues to bowl a bit shorter with those big boundaries square of the wicket. Just the one run for Jason Roy off the first over.

There is still some movement out there for the bowlers, I wonder if this will be a tricky period for England to negotiate first up.
A jaffa from Dushmantha Chameera first up to Jason Roy, who manages to keep his hands down to a short ball which nips away. Jason Roy takes a big waft at a wider one next up but he's nowhere near it.

England are blessed at the moment with top-order power hitters. What they're looking for now is that middle-order finisher who can get them over the line in pressure situations in the World Cup.

Craig Harrison: This real question is are Sri Lanka so bad or are England just that good?

Barney Mcgrew: The only saving grace is that only 4,000 people have wasted their money tonight.

There is zero hope for Sri Lanka in this game because England have such a strong line up. Even if they do take a few early wickets, they have Liam Livingstone at six who opens in the T20 Blast and Sam Curran at seven who opens in the IPL.
England's opening pair - Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy - are swaggering to the crease. It could be done in under 10 overs if these two get going.
I think Kumar has probably given a reasonable assessment of why Sri Lanka are not quite the force they were.
More from Kumar Sangakkara, who told BBC Stumped that the game is being held back in Sri Lanka by the game's administrators.
He said: "The players have been held back by the upheavals in administration over the years and a very archaic system where everyone is resistant to change.
"I hear arguments that we have won a World Cup in 1996 with this system why should we should change? Other countries have surpassed us and run passed us with refinements to their selection policies and first-class system.
"We have seen the negative effect on our players and how they have performed on the world stage. It's time to draw a line and say it's enough. Bite the bullet and change. The ideas cannot come from a select few. It's about having the system to filter through the best cricketers in the country."
Thanks Callum.
That was mightily impressive from England in the field, especially Eoin Morgan's utter commitment to the cause. Even though Sri Lanka were crawling to a total he was still deep in tactical discussions with his bowlers, and getting his field exactly right.
That's me done for the day.
I'll hand you over to Timothy Abraham, who is surely going to guide England to victory and a series win?
Here are some of the seven wickets that England took.
They were excellent with the ball. They didn't give Sri Lanka a thing.

This is the lowest score England have ever conceded when they have bowled the full 20 overs. There's nothing to write home about from Sri Lanka. England were just too good and when you see Sam Curran has bowled two overs and got 1-8 then not bowled again it shows their strength.
David Willey: 0-17 from four overs
Sam Curran: 1-8 from two overs
Chris Jordan: 1-31 from four overs
Liam Livingstone: 0-10 from two overs
Mark Wood: 2-18 from four overs
Adil Rashid: 2-24 from four overs
