    Notts 47-1 (5 overs) - target 126

The batsmen cross and Joe Clarke threads a back-foot punch between cover-point and extra-cover that should have been saved.

Only a remarkable run of wickets can get Hampshire back into this.

And just to make their night worse, Bon Jovi comes on over the PA.

Spin is really their only way of getting wickets. That was brave bowling by Liam Dawson - he tossed it up, a little slower, and James Vince took a good catch under the lights."

    Notts 42-1 - target 126

Liam Dawson back. Two dots and Alex Hales can't resist having a dip at the river.

He doesn't get the required contact and James Vince takes a good catch running back from mid-on. Very well held that.

    A brief burst from Hales.

The disparity between these two teams in the bowling department has been very clear."

    Notts 42-0 (4 overs) - target 126

I'd say bookmakers are already paying on Notts here.

    Scott Currie into the attack.

Three slower balls, the first worked for two wide of deep midwicket, the third a wide.

Working the ball around with ease. No drama.

    Notts 35-0 (3 overs) - target 126

Brad Wheal takes over. Hants shoulders already slumping.

Slightly back of a length and Joe Clarke pulls like a Tiger Woods' stinging two-iron over deep square for six to the short boundary.

Then misses his yorker and gets driven past extra-cover for four.

    Notts 22-0 (2 overs) - target 126

Liam Dawson from the Pavilion End.

Joe Clarke punches wide of deep midwicket for two and then goes through point for four with perfect timing.

And then Alex Hales, standing way outside leg stump, goes up and over extra-cover for six.

Totally telegraphed what he was going to do and still Dawson couldn't stop him.

A tidy start for Notts against Chris Wood.

Singles and then a push past extra-cover by Alex Hales that just runs for four beyond an agonising dive.

    They're underway.

    Hampshire 125-9 v Notts

Well that was just about as miserable a T20 innings as you'll see.

Notts have previous in totally embarrassing teams in small chases and you fear this could be another.

    Hampshire 125-9 v Notts - innings break

Hampshire Hawks just never got going in their innings.

To be 40-5 after nine overs was not far short of disastrous and although Tom Prest (44) and James Fuller (30) batted well in adding 49, the visitors needed them to stay together deep into the innings.

With Alex Hales, Joe Clarke and Ben Duckett to lead off for Notts, this one could be over quickly - unless Hampshire can also pick up early wickets.

The start Notts put on in the powerplay was outstanding and that's set the platform for what we've seen. They'll come out and be as positive as normal and chase this with ease.

    Hampshire 125-9 v Notts (Crane 6, Wheal0 )

Mason Crane backs away from his stumps and dabs it away square for a couple of runs.

The innings ends with a bye and that's been a highly professional display in the field by Notts Outlaws.

With their batting line-up, surely this will be a formality? Maybe - but as is often said about cricket, it's a funny old game.

    Luke FletcherImage source, Rex Features

A slower ball by Luke Fletcher, Chris Wood tries to carve it over cover, but it's another easy catch, this one taken by Joe Clarke.

    Hampshire 117-8 (Wood 10, Crane 1)

Mason Crane is off the mark with one and Chris Wood ends the over with another squeezed down to long leg off the inside edge. Six balls to go - how many more can Hampshire add to the total?

    Hampshire 115-8 v Notts

Only one run conceded from Dane Paterson's first three deliveries and his fourth brings him another wicket as Scott Currie is leg-before to a yorker. Mason Crane is the new batsman.

  18. Postpublished at 18 overs

    Hampshire 114-7 v Notts (Wood 8, Currie 3)

An audacious switch-hit by Scott Currie off Luke Fletcher. He times it so well, he deserves four, but has to settle for a single.

Chris Wood miscues a pull from the next ball but manages to come back for two as Fletcher lumbers in pursuit with the leg-side field spread.

A bouncer to Currie is called no-ball and Wood swings the final delivery towards long-on, but it falls just short of Alex Hales and he takes a single.

    Two overs to go.

If they can keep squeezing that total up to 130-140 that's something to bowl at. That's what Hampshire will be saying - give us something.

    Hampshire 106-7 v Notts (Wood 4, Currie 1)

If Samit Patel hits, Scott Currie is gone - but the ball just misses the stumps at the bowler's end and he has his first run.

Dane Paterson sends down two successive wides before Chris Wood squeezes a legit delivery away for two to end the over.
