WICKET Conway run out 45published at 19:06 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Somerset 84-2 (9 overs) v Middlesex

Confusion all round at Taunton between Somerset pair Devon Conway and Will Smeed sees in-form New Zealand opener Conway run out for 45.

It seems that the batsmen thought Conway's initial shot was racing to the boundary, but some good fielding in the deep cut it off out of their vision and then before they knew it, the ball was back at the wicketkeeper's end and the bails had been whipped off by John Simpson with Conway short of his ground.

  2. Postpublished at 19:05 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Notts 86-2 v Birmingham (9 overs)

It's 34 for Notts' Alex Hales after an outstanding catch at long on from Sam Hain.

That follows the exit of Ben Duckett, who made 39 and fell to a diving catch by the boundary by Matt Lamb off the bowling of Danny Briggs.

  3. Postpublished at 19:04 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 60-2 v Lancashire (8 overs)

Luke Wells comes into the attack for Lancashire. Harry Brook sweeps and a fielding misjudgement by Rob Jones gifts Yorkshire four runs which takes the total past 50.

Adam Lyth tries a sweep of his own and edges over the keeper for four. Suffice to say that Wells isn't happy right at this moment.

  4. Postpublished at 19:01 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 49-2 v Lancashire (7 overs)

Here comes Matt Parkinson, who certainly does get some 'revs' on the ball. Not much turn, but it's decent over costing him only five singles.

Was that a run out chance from the final delivery as Harry Brook drives straight and Parkinson diverts towards the stumps. It just misses but Adam Lyth may have grounded his bat in time in any event.

  5. wicket

    WICKET Bell-Drummond lbw b Jacks 0published at 19:00 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Kent 1-1 (0.2 overs) v Surrey

Awful start for hosts Kent at Canterbury as their skipper Daniel Bell-Drummond is trapped leg before first ball by Will Jacks' part-time spin.

Just what Surrey wanted after losing the toss.

  6. Postpublished at 18:58 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 45-2 v Lancashire (6 overs)

Not much foot movement, but excellent timing, as Harry Brook drives Luke Wood through the off-side for four.

A dab down to third man rotates the strike to Adam Lyth and he flips the next ball over short fine leg's head for another boundary.

How does Wood respond? With an excellent yorker which Lyth can only dead-bat. He stays on 29 not out.

  7. Postpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Durham 45-3 v Leicestershire (7 overs)

Leicestershire star bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has now taken a mighty 21 wickets this season.

The Afghan has caught out Ben Stokes for 8, who clipped the ball straight into the hands of Foxes' Callum Parkinson.

Cameron Bancroft didn't score and David Bedingham went for one prior to that.

  8. Postpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 36-2 v Lancashire (5 overs)

Superb timing by Adam Lyth, who ends Saqib Mahmood's over by punching the ball square for four. He has 25 and Harry Brook, his new partner, is on one. Brook went into this game as Yorkshire's leading run-scorer in 2021 with 372.

  9. Teams and Tosspublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

Hampshire Hawks v Gloucestershire Gladiators (19:00 BST)

Hampshire have had a real struggle so far this season with just one win from nine matches as they sit bottom of the South Group.

They've won the toss and elected to bat first against Gloucestershire, who are in third place.

Here are your teams at the Ageas Bowl:

Hampshire: Vince (capt), Short, Weatherley, Prest, De Grandhomme, McManus (wk), Fuller, Wood, Currie, Crane, Wheal.

Gloucestershire: Dent, Hammond, Howell, Bracey (wk), Phillips, J Taylor (capt), Worrall, Smith, Shaw, Scott, M Taylor.

  10. wicket

WICKET Thompson c Wells b Mahmood 5published at 18:50 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 30-2 v Lancashire

Jordan Thompson had already flirted with disaster by attempting to pull a short delivery (see 18:45 entry) and he departs after trying to repeat the shot. The ball from Saqib Mahmood is onto him quicker than he expects and Luke Wells runs back from mid-wicket to take a good catch.

  11. Teams and tosspublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

Derbyshire v Worcestershire (starts 19:00 BST)

Worcestershire are a point away from the top four in the North group going into tonight, having lost to Lancashire by 34 runs yesterday.

The Rapids have won the toss and chosen to bat first.

Derbyshire signed former England bowler Jade Dernbach on loan earlier today and he goes straight into the side at The County Ground.

Derbyshire: Came, Reece, Wood, du Plooy, Critchley, Hudson-Prentice, Guest, McKiernan, van Beek, Dernbach, Scrimshaw.

Worcestershire: Wessels, D'Oliveira, Libby, Mitchell, Cox, Whiteley, Barnard, Dwarshuis, Sodhi, Pennington, Morris.

  12. Sussex pass 200 in Cardiffpublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

Sussex 201-7 v Glamorgan (20 overs) - end of innings

After taking some punishment earlier in the innings, Glamorgan's Roman Walker ends it by dismissing Will Beer and Aaron Thomason with his final two deliveries. Walker's final figures are 3-44, with Dan Douthwaite returning 3-28. Can Glamorgan chase down this target? They'll need to bat better than last night.

  13. Teams and Tosspublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

Kent Spitfires v Surrey (19:00 BST)

Kent win the toss and elect to bat first at Canterbury in the meeting of the top two in the South Group.

Kent are unchanged from their rather chastening defeat by Somerset on Monday.

Surrey make one change from a narrow one-run defeat by Glamorgan, Jordan Clark comes in for young all-rounder Ben Geddes.

Kent: Crawley, Bell-Drummond (capt), Denly, Leaning, Blake, Cox (wk), Stevens, Milne, Ahmad, Milnes, Klaassen.

Surrey: Jacks, Smith (wk), Evans, Pope, Burns, Overton, Clark, Jamieson, Atkinson, Batty (capt), Moriarty.

  14. 6 runs

Postpublished at 18:48 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 29-1 v Lancashire (4 overs)

Steven Croft again and Adam Lyth swings his opening delivery away for four. The opener is warming to his task and lofts the spinner away over the covers for six. Lyth is 19 not out and will keep the strike for the next.

  15. Postpublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Notts 51-0 v Birmingham (4 overs)

Notts are unbeaten in eight matches coming in and they have started with confidence.

Batsman Ben Duckett is on 27 after playing three sweeps in a row, earning himself two fours and a six, while Alex Hales has already earned more than the 13 he managed on his 300th T20 appearance against Leicestershire last night.

  16. Postpublished at 18:45 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 18-1 v Lancashire (3 overs)

A welcome boundary for Yorkshire but it's not a convincing one as Jordan Thompson tries to pull a short ball from Luke Wood and it flies over the keeper's head via the splice.

  17. Postpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Sussex 193-6 v Glamorgan (19 overs)

Travis Head hits the final two deliveries of the 18th over, bowled by James Weighell for six, but now he is gone. It's a third wicket for Dan Douthwaite as the Australian cross-bats inelegantly to deep mid-wicket. He made 26.

  18. wicket

WICKET Stoneman c Wells b Wood 2published at 18:40 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 11-1 v Lancashire (2.1 overs)

Mark Stoneman tries to pull Luke Wood's first delivery but doesn't get hold of it properly and it's a straightforward catch for Luke Wells at mid-wicket. Jordan Thompson is the new batsman.

  19. Finn strikes first ballpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Somerset 21-1 (2.1 overs) v Middlesex

Middlesex captain Steven Finn makes an immediate impact for his side at Taunton.

He bags the wicket of Somerset opener George Bartlett with a catch at mid-on after a decent first couple of overs by him and fellow opener Devon Conway.

Somerset began the night fourth in the South Group and will be looking for another win to boost their quarter-final chances.

  20. 6 runs

Postpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 2 July 2021

    Yorkshire 11-0 v Lancs (2 overs)

Mark Stoneman was perhaps a slightly odd signing by Yorkshire, given his T20 average of just a fraction over 20. He is not renowned for audacious strokeplay, but a pull shot for one gives Adam Lyth the strike and he clips the final delivery of Saqib Mahmood's over for the game's first six.
