    Notts 104-4 (Patel 6, Trego 2) - target 153

Peter Trego will turn 40 in a few days' time and has seen just about everything during his long county career.

He's the new Notts batsman following the downfall of Tom Moores and is immediate task, in tandem with Samit Patel, is to stem the flow of wickets.

Four from the over is ok.

    Kent 107-2 v Hampshire

How often does this seem to happen?! One wicket brings two for Hampshire and both openers have departed.

Spin has done for both of them, with first Mason Crane dismissing Daniel Bell-Drummund (42) and then from the next over Liam Dawson seeing off Joe Denly (44)

Kent are 107-2 at the midway point of their innings.

    Moores c Whiteley b Moeen 12 (Notts 100-4)

Moeen continues and is close to another wicket as a miscue by Samit Patel is just inches away from the flying fielder at mid-wicket.

The 100 comes up with two for Peter Moores but he is brilliantly caught by Ross Whiteley as he whips the final ball of the over into the leg-side.

Notts need 53 from the remaining 60 balls with six wickets left.

  4. 6 runs

    Notts 95-3 (Moores 9, Patel 2)

Ish Sodhi almost sneaks another wicket as Tom Moores plays over the top of a near yorker-length delivery.

Sodhi has a slip in place for Samit Patel but there's not much spin for him so far and Moores ends the over by pulling him away for towering six as he drops fractionally short.

    Somerset 130-5 v Essex

We're into the final four overs at Taunton, where Somerset look well placed to press for 160-170.

From 62-0 the visitors have done really well to peg this back, thanks in part to 3-14 from Sam Cook's three overs so far.

Lewis Gregory is unbeaten with a run-a-ball 24 and, you'd image, Somerset will very much be looking to him for some late fireworks.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8 overs

Duckett lbw Moeen 6 (Notts 85-3)

Two left-handers at the crease now and it's spin at both ends as Moeen Ali returns. It's a good over and ends in the best way possible for Worcestershire as Ben Duckett goes back to one that turns and keep s a little low and is pinned in front. Game on.

  7. wicket

    Clarke c Dwarshuis b Sodhi 45 (Notts 81-2)

Ish Sodhi was a member of the Notts side which won the T20 Blast in 2017. Now, here he is bowling for Worcestershire against his former club.

Joe Clarke and Ben Duckett settle for rotating the strike until Clarke takes an unnecessary risk from the final delivery and holes out.

It's fair to say that he is quite cross with himself for bringing his 12-ball innings to an end in that way.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6 overs

    Hales c Moeen b Tongue 31 (Notts 76-1)

Glorious - Joe Clarke takes two steps down the wicket and strikes Josh Tongue straight for yet another six. Who would want to bowl to these two when they are in this mood? Only the brave or foolhardy.

Tongue tries a slower short ball to Alex Hales - he spots it, and clubs it baseball-style into the stand beyond long-on.

The final delivery is very similar, but Hales doesn't make as good a contact this time and finally there is relief for Worcestershire as Moeen Ali takes a straightforward catch.

    Notts 63-0 (Clarke 36, Hales 25) - target 153

Moeen Ali is still unwilling to turn back to spin and a single off Ben Dwarshuis takes the total to 50.

In comes the Australian again and Joe Clarke stands up straight and whacks him over mid-off for four.

Alex Hales comes onto strike and the hours in the gym pay off again as he strong arms the ball away over the fence and seats at mid-wicket for six.

A good yorker from Dwarshuis to end the over - but he has 0-30 from two.

    Kent 41-0 v Hampshire

Kent have made a decent start against Hampshire, including two big sixes from Daniel Bell-Drummond.

He and Joe Denly have moved the Spitfires to 41-0 after four overs.

Charlie Morris is next into the firing line. Less pace than Dwarshuis and Tongue - can he contain the Notts openers? Only five singles from the over, so the answer is a welcome yes for the group of Worcestershire supporters inside New Road.

    Notts 43-0 (Clarke 26, Hales 15) - target 153

    Wow.

In comes Josh Tongue, drops it short and Joe Clarke pulls it away for six over mid-wicket. There's an lbw shout next up, but it's just drifting down leg and Notts collect two leg byes.

What's next - an incredible ramp shot by Clarke, which brings him another maximum. He must have nerves, and wrists, of steel.

What can Alex Hales do? How about that? A short arm jab at the ball and it sails back over Tongue's head for his first six before an emphatic pull costs the paceman four to end the over - 25 from it.

    Notts 18-0 (Clarke 13, Hales 5)

Here comes Australian Ben Dwarshuis - pronounced DWAR-SHUSS apparently. His first ball is stroked away for four and the second is hammered over long-off for six by Joe Clarke.

The Big Bash, in which he was so successful with 24 wickets last winter, must suddenly seem a world away. Well, half a world at least.

Alex Hales is late on the shot as he tried to pull the final ball of the over, but it flies away off the top edge for another four. A tough introduction.

    Somerset 81-4 v Essex

From 63-0 after 3.4 overs, Somerset collapsed somewhat to 85-4 off eight.

Roelef van der Merwe (0) and Tom Abell (4) have both departed, with Ed Byrom now very much carrying the fight unbeaten on 18.

All-rounder Lewis Gregory is with him.

  15. Postpublished at 1 over

    Notts 3-0 (Clarke 2, Hales 1) - target 153

The asking rate at the start of the Notts innings is 7.65.

It's now a little higher after a good over by Moeen Ali which ends with a confident lbw shout against Joe Clarke, which is turned down by the umpire.

    Notts 0-0 (Target 153)

Worcestershire skipper Moeen Ali will open the bowling. Worcestershire old boys Alex Hales and Joe Clarke are the two Notts batsmen plenty of bicep and pectoral on show under their tight-fitting shirts. Here we go.

    Kent v Hampshire (start 19:00)

Hampshire Hawks have won the toss and chosen to field first against Kent Spitfires in the day's final game. Newly-signed James Logan is in the Kent side, while Australian D'Arcy Short plays for Hampshire.

    Worcestershire 152-6 v Notts - between innings

Judging by Worcestershire's innings, it's tough for batsmen to attack if bowlers find the right length on this pitch and areas of the outfield aren't the quickest.

This run-chase might not therefore be straightforward for Notts, but Worcestershire will be aware of the need to get rid of Alex Hales early.

Hales, though, has only had one second team game since returning from the Pakistan Super League in March.

    Somerset 63-2 v Essex

Somerset got off to an absolute flier at Taunton, racing to 57-0 after three overs - with a whopping 33 coming off Jack Plom's first set of six.

But Sam Cook has since dismissed both openers - James Hildreth for 39 and Tom Banton for 18 - in the space of three balls to check the home side's progress.

Roelef van der Merwe and Tom Abell are at the crease now.
