Wallop! A six for Billings square of the wicket, on the leg side.

  2. Postpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 22 July 2021

Oval Invincibles are struggling now, but they got off to a flier thanks to Sam Curran's very brief stay at the crease. He wasn't for hanging around!

  3. Not outpublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 22 July 2021

The technology shows there was no sound detected as the ball passed the bat, indicating there was no edge. The umpire reverses his decision.

  4. Invincibles reviewpublished at Ball 45

    Invincibles 59-5

Has Billings edged the ball into the hands of Jos Buttler behind the stumps? Bowler Matt Parkinson is convinced and the umpire raises his finger to signal out.

Billings doesn't think he's hit it, so we go to the TV umpire.

You feel like there's a big shot coming.

  6. Invincibles 59-4published at Ball 45

Steven Finn is an experienced cricketer who has played for England in all formats. He is frustrating the Invincibles at the moment.

Meanwhile, I'm no style guru but I can barely hear the commentary over the loudness of James Anderson's shirt. A lot of stripes. But he's pulling it off, to be fair.

    James Anderson
    England bowler on BBC Two

I'd like to thank the team for putting me right next to the flamethrowers. I think they've burned my eyebrows off.

Alex and Tom are no relation, by the way!

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Two

I don't know what's happened because Tom Hartley doesn't wear the number 65 for Lancashire. I think he might have picked up my kit by mistake!

Colin Ingram likes to use an axe and chop wood as a way to build some of his power.

  11. Invincibles 55-4published at Ball 40

Ingram is another quality batter. Invincibles have some real quality in their team!

Another leg-spinner is introduced to the bowling attack as Calvin Harrison has a bowl. I have to be honest, I don't know much about him. But he bowls a nice, tight line and limits Invincibles from finding the boundaries.

I’ve moved to the back of one of the stands. It’s definitely an older crowd than last night but there are still plenty of kids here. Lots of 20-somethings too.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at Ball 34

    Jacks c Finn b Parkinson 15 (Invincibles 49-4)

Invincibles lose their fourth wicket! Jacks goes for another big swing and mistimes it straight into the hands of Steven Finn.

    Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Two

Matt Parkinson bowls quite slowly and he's not scared of giving it some flight - so looping it up a bit over the batsman's eyeline. It will be interesting to see how the Oval Invincibles play him.

  16. 6 runs

    Invincbles 48-3published at Ball 32

Leg-spinner Matt Parkinson is the new bowler and Will Jacks launches him to the offside, the ball sails about a foot or two over the head of the fielder for six.

  17. Invincibles 41-3published at Ball 30

Brathwaite concedes seven runs from his five balls, which is decent going in this format.

    James Anderson
    England bowler on BBC Two

The Originals will be delighted with this start. The three wickets in the powerplay could be crucial.

  19. Invincibles 39-3published at Ball 28

Carlos Brathwaite is a fine TV pundit, a brilliant cricketer and a proper cool geezer.

With a gold chain dangling off his neck, the West Indies star bowls to Will Jacks who drills it back past the bowler. It's in the air but it's hit with such power that Brathwaite can't even get his hand on it. Four.
