The Invincibles have had an odd tournament so far.

They won on the opening night and at Lord's four days later, before a six-day break.

Two defeats, where they probably should have got over the line chasing, have followed and all of a sudden they are in a battle to progress.

We're going to see India's teenage superstar Shafali Verma first up today, with Birmingham Phoenix batting first.

Verma lost the latest round in her ongoing battle with England bowler Katherine Brunt on Sunday, and she's she's only scored 55 runs in four innings so far.

Is today the day she lights this tournament up?

  3. How is the table looking?published at 15:22 British Summer Time 4 August 2021

We're past the halfway point in the group stage now, and the women's competition is starting to take shape at the top.

Southern Brave and Northern Superchargers are starting to break away slightly, and seem likely to compete for the top two places.

Third placed - which will play second in the Eliminator on 20 August for the right to place the top-placed team in the final on 21 August - is tightly contested.

Oval Invincibles can put themselves in a good position with a win today, while two points for Birmingham Phoenix will put them in the hunt.
