  1. Phoenix 116-8published at Ball 90

Let's not forget that Oval Invincibles failed to chase 110 on Saturday and 113 on Monday, so this game is by no means a formality.

Oh, that's a poor bit of fielding. A pull round the corner by Phoebe Franklin beats Danielle Gregory at short fine leg, and Mady Villiers can't quite get across.

These are all useful runs on a slow pitch.

Those catches off your own bowling are never the easiest. You have loads of time to think.

  4. wicket

    Wong c & b Farrant 11 (Phoenix 109-8)

    Tash Farrant takes wickets.

It is the off-cutter from Farrant and Issy Wong just hits it straight up in the air and Farrant takes the return catch just in front of the stumps at the non-striker's end.

She's up to 11 wickets in the tournament now, and is moving clear of Sammy-Jo Johnson who has nine.

  6. Phoenix 109-7published at Ball 85

    Wong 11, Franklin 2

Dane van Niekerk finishes her 20 balls with figures of 2-16. An excellent day out for the Invincibles skipper.

Her side are well and truly on top here.

This game is really signifcant for Phoenix. Defeat today doesn't rule them out of qualification for the latter stages but you do start to reach the terriory of matches becoming less about finding your way and more about keeping your place in the tourmanent.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at Ball 82

    Davies c Farrant b Van Niekerk 11 (Phoenix 106-7)

Birmingham Phoenix are just losing wickets too regularly.

Gwen Davies looks to hit over mid-wicket, but it would have been a fairly decent hit and she just picks out Tash Farrant who takes a simple catch.

Phoenix really need to avoid being bowled out. They've got to use up all 100 balls.

Birmingham Phoenix have built nicely. They are six wickets down but every new batter has looked to build with one at the crease. They have always found the boundary.

Erin Burns is the only Phoenix player to offer any meaningful resistance to the Invincibles today. Here is the run map for her 45...

    Oh no!

Issy Wong clubs it down the ground and the Invincibles fielder overruns the ball and it spins past back and into the boundary.

    Not a good look unfortunately.

Oh my goodness. That is a great cricket shot! To switch your stance and generate that power... well played.

  14. Phoenix 97-6published at Ball 76

    Shot!

Alice Capsey bowled a waist high full toss to start her final set, and Gwen Davies brings out the switch hit for the free hit and flogs it to the cover boundary.

    Outrageous.

Eva Gray is such a dynamic fielder and a useful all-rounder. It's a little bit of a worry for Invincibles.

Gwen Davies gets off the mark with a reverse sweep which she clothes to the third boundary. She played a lot of sweeps, to good effect, against Manchester Originals earlier in the tournament.

Hmmm. Eva Gray seems to have jarred her left shoulder here, and is in quite a lot of pain. She's currently being assessed by the physio off the field.

Because of the lack of pace in this wicket, she wasn't able to generate the power. It's a really good knock from Burns, particularly after they lost their big wickets early.

That ball could have been put anywhere. The fielder ended up taking the easiest of catches.
