If Welsh Fire can get to 130 from here it would be a great score.

    It is an excellent review!

    Luff lbw b Arlott 7

Great review! The ball looked like it was sliding down leg side, but the technology goes in Emily Arlott's favour and Sophie Luff is back on her way to the dug out.

Luff was a long way down the wicket. It will be interesting...

  7. Umpire reviewpublished at 73 balls

Emily Arlott grits her teeth as she bound into the crease. The third ball of an impressive set strikes Sophie Luff on the pad and Phoenix fielders all appeal for lbw.

The original decision but Amy Jones goes for a review.

  8. Fire 94-3published at 70 balls

Sophie Luff with a fortunate boundary to get off the mark early on, edging a flighted delivery from Erin Burns through the vacant third man region for four. Fire take three more singles from the last three of Burns' set.

That was a really smart catch. Erin Burns is known for being one of the best fielders in the world in Australia.

Welsh Fire's middle order has been a little exposed in this tournament so far.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 66 balls

    Redmayne c & b Burns 17 (Fire 87-3)

No mistake this time! Having spilled a similar chance early on Erin Burns is able to cling on to a powerful low drive back straight at her from Georgia Redmayne.

I would consider a burst of seam bowling to Sarah Taylor. If you bowl seam at her early in her innings she is a little more vulnerable.

  14. Fire 86-2published at 63 balls

Abtaha Maqsood bowls a high full toss early in her next set but Sarah Taylor is unable to capitalise and punches it down the ground for one.

A couple of balls later and Taylor, collar turned up Cantona-esque, cashes in sweeping Maqsood for four behind square.

  15. Fire 79-2published at 60 balls

Emily Arlott has been fairly tight with the ball. Georgia Redmayne dances down the track to her final delivery but Arlott spots her coming and keeps it wide of her. The pair exchange wry grins.

That was strange. From the commentary box it seemed there was never really an opportunity to run. Smith wanted to get back on strike.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 56 balls

    Smith run out (Franklin/Arlott) 38

A communication mix-up between Bryony Smith and Georgia Redmayne sees the latter turning on her heels two thirds of the way down the pitch and racing to get back in at the non-striker's end. She is well short of her ground.

  19. Fire 75-1published at 55 balls

Georgia Redmayne sweeps Kirstie Gordon delicately behind square but the boundary sweeper is able to cut it off. Fire finish the set with a boundary, courtesy of a delicious late cute from Bryony Smith, and four wides.

Fire on course to post a commanding total at this rate. Phoenix need a breakthrough soon.
